Annual Report of the Year 2019-20
Good evening everybody,
Ambika Bala Vidyalaya sponsored by Nattoja Foundation Trust (R) is an upcoming institution
with Indian thinking, along with its other three sister institutions expecting to be affiliated to the
CBSE Board in the near future. It is my pleasure to give a birds-eye view about the institution for the
year 2019-20.
The institution which began seven years ago with a single student now has 320 students with
Sri Nattoja Shivananda Rao as the President, Sri Subramanya Nattoja as the Correspondent, Smt
Rajashree Nattoja as the treasurer and Kum. Vaidehi and master Shrikrishna S Nattoja as the Trust
members. It was, is and will be run with the holy blessings of Sri Sri Bharathi Thirtha Swamiji of Sri
Sharada Peeta Sringeri.
The institution is always guided by an experienced governing council which includes Smt.
Shakuntala Nayak as an executive director, Sri K Suresh Shetty , Sri Purandara Bhat P, Sri Lakshmish
Tholpady , Sri Prasanna Bhat N, Dr.T Srikanth Rao, Mr. Sathya Prasad Kote as the members.
The institution which took its birth as a Kannada medium school has successfully
changed into an English medium school and also claimed its status as Tulu linguistic minority school
and has secured NOC from the state to go for CBSE Board affiliation. The school is upgraded to
higher Primary level from lower Primary.
The school has 15 regular well trained, dedicated teaching staff, one guest teacher, two
administrative staff and a Campus director Sri Venkatesh Bhat, an Ex-Police officer, for the smooth
functioning of the school.
Along with these our students are trained in Bharatha Natyam by Kum. Shwetha, Carnatic
Classical Music by Vidhushi Shilpa C.H,Karate by Sri Suresh, Yakshagana by Sri Balakrishna
Uddangala, Swimming and Scatting by Sri Yashwantha and team, Yoga by Smt. Sharavathi and team,
Samskara Deeksha by Sri Srikrishna Upadhyaya, value education by Sri Durga Parameshwara,
Abacus by Smt Vanamala and team and also we have a regular Counselling staff Smt. Shushmitha
Shetty to help the needy students and parents in the field of studies and behaviours.
Computer is being taught from first standard itself as a subject.
Smart board education is also introduced as a part of teaching.
Mid-day meal arrangement is also made in the school for the needy students.
For the all round development of the students we follow the C C E pattern where not only
written testes are taken into Consideration , or as a parameter for promotion , but also a lot of
other activates in and out of the class , projects assignments etc are also included. The performance
of the child through the year is accounted for the promotions.
The activities of the school throughout the year are given well in advance to the students to
plan and channelize their talent in various fields. Though NCERT does not support pacca
11
competition, we organise lot of achiever with a intention to have a healthy, positive attitude among
the students where we encourage the students to take part in at least 7 items out of the listed 14 to
15 items , that too with a stress to go for 4 on the stage and 3 off the stage. To boost self
confidence in them many assembly activities, lab activities, educational outings and celebration are
observed periodically.
The day in Ambika Bala Vidyalaya begins with Shloka, Dhayana, Bhajan, Bhagavadgeetha,
Chantings, nitya panchanga, News Reading, Shtrotras, Ashtakam etc. Students are asked to share
their special experiences, the book they read about and various other things in the assembly. In
addition to this our students are exposed to many kind of external competitive exams like
Olympiad, spell bees, Goloka Quiz, Drawing, Colouring competitions, Prathibha karanji , Inspire
awards etc.
To develop a healthy competition we have four houses like Kalpavruksha, Kamadhenu, Airavatha
and Amrutha with different house uniform and an in change teacher.
We have introduced Scouts and guides wing in our school and our students have taken part in
the Camp held at Subhoda school Aarlapadavu, Panaje, Puttur and have won a good appreciation
for their active participation and group spirit , under the able guidance of cub master Sri Sathisha K
and guide captain Smt Chandrakala.
Like the previous years this year the academic session began in a traditional way where the
students were welcomed with band, music, Arathi, Kumkum and were blessed by Suresh Shetty Sir.
To create awareness about the environment, ‘world environment day’ was observed. Talents day
was organized to encourage the new comers. The school election was held in a democratic way. It
was followed by an investiture ceremony where new prefect team was honoured by Sri Subramanya
Nattoja and Kumari Sri Lakshmi S C and Vardhin D Rai took the oath as the SPL and the ASPL.
The world yoga day was enlightened by Smt Sharavathi and Smt Bharathi. The students of class
IV have trained for a week in Sudarshana kriya yoga and are being continued in daily assembly for
about 13 minutes. Several other important days were observed in such a way to widen their
knowledge and to create awareness about it.
‘Ambika’ is known for its many firsts and also for fostering the spirit of patriotism among the
students. Along with the college students, our students also took part in the route march on
Independence Day with slogans to create awareness in the society about the importance of the day.
Kargil day / Vijaya divas was also observed in the same manner. The students paid homage
to the Martyrs by offering flowers at Amar Jawan Jyothi. The major festivals like Gurupurnima ,
Ganesha Chaturthi , Srikrishna Janmashtami , Sharada Pooja , Shastri-Gandhi Jayanthi , Raksha
Bandhan, Teachers’ day, Children’s day etc were observed.
Under the ‘Go green’ concept for the third time, some 320 saplings were given to our
students by the students of the Ambika PU College under their ‘Dasha Sahastra Vruksha’ project .
In the KG section, colours day and Grandparents day were observed. Several Grand
parents took part in it and enjoyed the day with the kids by rejoicing many a funny games. This was a
small effort to a bridge the gap between the two generations. Prof Arthikaje had graced the occasion
and donated a set of books on Ramayana to our library in addition to the books that he already
contributed to our library. The KG kids had taken part in Diya decoration on account of Dipavali. To
12
encourage cleanliness in the class room weekly, classroom decoration concept is being introduced
on a trial basis. Under educational visit, our students visited the Paddy fields.
PTA meetings held regularly on every second Saturdays and one to one meetings were also
held regularly.
Our students participated in various competitions in Prathibha Karanji for the first time and
bagged prizes. Nidhi of class 4 took part in district level Prathibha Karanji and was appreciated by all.
Roshan Sharif of class v gave a magic show in the town.
Annual sports meet was held on 29th of November where Aarya Mohan of class II, Niharika of
class II, Anitej of class III, Lasya Kishan of class III, Avani U N of class V and Vardin D Rai of class V
are declared as champions. On November 1st our students gave a wonderful performance in the
town on account of Kannada Rajyotsava. On children’s day the staff members entertained the
students with their talents through a roopaka.
As assured in the last year this year too free education is sponsored for two students from the
military quota and a reduction of Rs.3000/- is given to all the children of those parents, who are
serving the Nation in all military fields.
This year too we have observed ‘Swachachata Pakawad’ program for a week through many
activities to create awareness about it.
Before winding up we solicit the kind co- operator from all the parents specially, Karthik
