Founded in 1906 by Colbert Coldwell and Benjamin Arthur Banker after the great San Francisco earthquake and fire.
Coldwell Banker began as a commercial real estate company. In 1937 they opened a residential real estate department.
In the 1950’s Coldwell Banker began to expand to Phoenix.
1960’s Seattle, 1970’s Atlanta, Chicago, & Washington D.C.
By 1976 Coldwell Banker offices opened coast to coast.

In 1994 the first international franchise office was opened in Toronto, Canada.
Offices in the Caribbean, Europe and Australia followed.
