LIVING BRANCHES. The Gospel and second reading for this Fifth Sunday of Easter emphasize the need for us to remain in Christ, and he in us. This shared life finds expression in the image of the one vine and many branches. We become living branches of the vine, members of the Body of Christ through baptism,
Eucharist, and confirmation, sacraments of sharing God’s own life. The First Letter of John describes the fruit of this vine as active love of neighbor: “And his commandment is this: we should believe . . . and love one another” (1 John 3:23). Our first reading from Acts shows us an example of someone who shares in Christ’s life in the person of Saint Paul. Paul’s fearless witness, even at the risk of his life, is proof to everyone that the risen Lord’s Spirit truly fills him with life and is bearing fruit in him.
ANNUAL GIGANTIC YARD SALE: Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Family Life Center. More information in the weeks ahead. As you do your Spring Cleaning this year, please begin saving your items and “treasures” for this fundraiser that
also benefits the Parish.
Fifth Sunday of Easter
MAY CROWNING. Next Sunday, May 6th, during the Children’s Mass at 10:30 a.m., members of the Parish’s Morning Faith Formation Program will process into the Sanctuary to present flowers to our Most
Blessed Virgin Mary Statue. In Honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, during the month of May, the Rosary Makers have made rosaries for anyone who needs one. Please see basket in the Vollkommer Bell Tower and feel free to take one for yourself or someone you know
B aptism is the premier Sacrament of the Church and the beginning of our eternal life with God.
If you are expecting a child, or have a child that has not yet been Baptized, a short preparation class is required. Classes will be scheduled for the first Sunday of every other month at 3:00 pm. You must call the church office to register so that we know you are coming or make any other arrangements necessary. NEXT CLASSES: APRIL 29, 2018 (Spanish) and MAY 6, 2018 (English). Lighthouse Catholic Ministry
Why Confess?
How does an anti-Catholic Evangelical Christian transform into a weekly confessing steadfast Catholic? In this CD, follow Scott Hahn as he traces his emotional and theological journey as it relates to the Sacrament of Confession. Dr. Scott Hahn presents the
historical and biblical origins of the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation). He provides an important guide for new Catholics, a source of renewal for "old hands", and a challenge to all of us to deepen our relationship with Christ through regular use of the Sacrament of Penance.
(CDs & Books can be found in the Vollkommer Bell Tower and the lobby in the Parish Offices Complex).

The Lord’s Word April 30-May 6, 2018
Our Lady of Grace Rosary Group This week, the Rosary will be prayed in the home of Dot and Chuck Luce, 29 Southwoode Circle, Chapin on Tuesday, May 1st @ 6:30 pm (NOTE: New Time) Please call the Luce’s at (828) 335-0534 if you can attend. Mrs. Laura Renda is the OLOG Rosary Group Coordinator.
Please call her at (704) 840-9860 and let her know if you would be willing to host Our Lady of Grace Rosary once a month. Come and partake in the beauty and benefits of the Rosary! This weekly devotion is worth the trip! There is fellowship before and after if you like.
The Adoration Chapel is available for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with the use of a code to enter the chapel. The code is available through the parish office. Please make sure you refer to the
Adoration Chapel Etiquette posted in the chapel, on the Parish’s Facebook Page and on the Parish’s website. Thank you for spending time with the Blessed Sacrament in Adoration and Prayer.
"Is anyone among you sick? They should summon the presbyters of the church, to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person and the Lord will raise them up. If they have committed any sins, they will be forgiven." (James 5:14)
In the sacrament we pray that the sick be healed in body, in mind and in spirit. The mission of the Church is to do what Jesus did. Healing was essential to the mission of the disciples. If you are experiencing the effects of illness, advanced age, preparing for surgery and seek the healing power of the sacrament you are encouraged to ask Father Dennis to celebrate the Anointing of the Sick with you. You or a family member can contact the parish office at 803.345.3962 or call Father’s cell phone at 843.834.5447.
Rosary Prayed in Church
Before the Vigil Mass on Saturdays and on Sundays before the Evening 5 pm Mass.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose Knights of Columbus Council 16903 will
be hosting the Silver Rose as it makes its
way thought South Carolina early in May.
The Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose
has been a Knights of Columbus tradition
for 50 years. Starting In 1960, Knights in Mexico,
Canada and the United States decided to honor Our
Lady of Guadalupe by carrying a rose across North
America from Canada to the Basilica of Our Lady of
Guadalupe in Monterrey, Mexico., We invite the Parish
to join us in a prayer service Tuesday May 15th at
6:00 p.m. to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe - One Life,
One Rose Program. Our Parish is honored to be one
of the few to host the Silver Rose during this year's
journey through South Carolina.
