DPC type De-energized Tap changer

DPC type de-energized tap changer

was developed specially for large

power single phase transformer.

The designs are based on existing

ABB mature tap changer

technology so the high reliability

can be expected.

Its simple and reliable design make

sure the life of the component is

the same as transformers,

requiring minimum maintenance.

DPC type de-energized tap changer features

Mature and optimized design

Developed based on ABB’s existing on load tap

changer structure with design optimization. The

structure is simple with less parts which can

minimize the risk of fault.

Clamp type contacts

Each fix contact clamped by four moving

guaranty the current carried through reliably when

transformers are put into service. The mechanical

test proved that the contact between fix and

moving are still reliable after more than

20,000 times operations.

Active part supported by wounded fiber glass

cylinder

Compared to traditional cage type de-energized

tap changer, it has better electrical performance

and mechanical strength.
