Case Study: Tayview Caravan Park For further information about the solutions Rapier can provide to the hospitality and leisure sector please visit www.rapiersystems.com or call 0845 299 6171 Our client, TayView Caravan Park is a privately owned beach-front grass park catering for Holiday Statics, Motor Homes, Touring Caravans, Glamping Cabins and Camping. Seasonal Pitches are also available. It’s close to the small town of Monifieth, which has a major Supermarket along with a selection Pubs, Takeaways, Restaurants and a variety of shops. A main line railway station and a fantastic bus service are available all within a short walk from the site. The unique setting of TayView is in the close proximity of a championship golf course, children’s adventure pay area, tennis courts and putting green. There are great walks along one of the best coast lines in the East of Scotland. TayView receives a great deal more sunshine per year than other parts of the United Kingdom, in fact, some 400 Hours more which is perfect for taking advantage of the beautiful sandy beaches a stone’s throw from the site. (Source: The Met Office) All in all TayView is a perfect location for all of your holiday needs. The park, which has in excess of 200 pitches for mixed use (static, tourer, camping and glamping) required reliable, high-speed Internet Access via Wi-Fi. The site owners reported issues with an existing Wi-Fi system, which neither covered the entire site, provided adequate performance nor from a professional perspective certainly, was installed properly. They had to deal with user complaints on a daily basis – not ideal when trying to charge for a premium service. Having been referred to Rapier Systems by one of our industry partners, we quickly performed a desktop analysis of site coverage for the client, which enabled a quotation to be generated. This gives all of our clients the ability to get a ‘feel’ for solution cost. Upon accepting the quotation, we then arranged with the client a full physical site survey, which we conduct using the actual equipment specified within our quotation. This allowed pinpoint accuracy in terms of equipment positioning, which of course helps to deliver ultimate performance. Having satisfied ourselves and the client that everything was in order, we proceeded to installation and finally commissioning – all within a few days. The client is delighted with the result and the park now has a robust, reliable, high-performance Wi-Fi network that is able to handle not just the existing number of connections required, but one that can grow to handle any future requirements too. They have a system that they can feel confident in and one that they can tailor in terms of utilisation. “Our confidence in getting what we were promised was at an all-time low - we are not experts in Wi-Fi after all. The team at Rapier however, have delivered exactly what they said they would and our trust in specialist suppliers, such as them has been restored”. Steven Paterson Tayview Caravan Park
