SPARKLING WINES mADE FROm hISTORIC ITALIAN GRAPESSparkling wines made using historic Italian grapes, the presence and cultivation of which is recorded in the history of the territory of origin.All these grapes, be they white berries or red berries, are full of acidity which enables the achievement of extraordinary sparkling wines even in hoy areas or not particularly high areas.

PARTICULAR WINESParticular wines are heroic wines, the result of hard labour, seat, the work of man; they are often produced in unknown areas, geographically inaccessible, at times impossible and grown in minuscule pockets of land extracted from the mountain, rocks, the sea. From Trentino-Alto Adige to Sardinia, from Valle d’Aosta to the island of Pantelleria, from Valtellina to the Amalfi Coast and Costa Viola, from the Cinque Terre to the slopes of Etna, ancient Enotria boasts a myriad of vineyards which have survived wars, pestilence, right through to the phylloxera epidemic.

ANGEL WINES The project, created in the 80s, is based upon the need to save a significant part of Trento agriculture from extinction, to search for, initially in historic texts and then directly on the land, ancient grape varieties which have been grown since the end of the Great War when this land was still part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

WINES OF ThE mINOR ISLANDS The island is a world in itself where everything miraculously adapts to the most varied environmental conditions, finding an individual place in which to grow and thrive. Even the type of vines which have been present from remote times past, have develops specific character, adapting cleverly to the various climates and the different geological situations. On the MINOR ISLANDS, this selection was even harder and the results even more unique.

INTERPRETATIONSThis label indicates the experiments and intuition applied by some producers within vineyards and cellars, even where traditional practices have been employed. The wines indicated are produced using techniques which increasingly tend toward a balance between the work carried out by man and nature.

BRT – VALDOBBIADENE PROSECCO SUPERIORE BIO DOCG

With its bold personality, its discreet taste and salty finish, it worthily accompanies elegant fish meals, white meats, even an entire meal.

EXD – VALDOBBIADENE PROSECCO SUPERIORE BIO DOCG

The subtle almost undetectable sweetness, perfectly balanced with the acidity, enables it to be served with meals with balanced sweet and savoury flavours.

CUV – VALDOBBIADENE PROSECCO SUPERIORE BIO DOCG

Made using grapes which come from a single Glera grape vineyard which dates back over 50 years; thanks to the specific soil composition and exposure, this “land” continues to provide limited yet precious fruits.

ZERO – VALDOBBIADENE PROSECCO SUPERIORE CARTIZZE DOCG

A one-of-a-kind Cartizze wine: Duca di Dolle wanted to preserve the purity of the vineyard lowering the sugar level to the minimum (5.5 g/lt) to create a Cartizze brut wine which is excellent as an aperitif or to accompany lighter dishes.

100% White Manzoni (hybrid of White Pinot and Riesling Renano), is a wine with excellent structure and high level of alcohol, flavourful and balanced. The family-run company is located at the foot of Montello at the heart of the Doc area. The grapes are almost entirely produced within the vineyards without any forcing: no weeds or desiccates and only watered in an emergency, in exceptional circumstances.

Produced using different grape varieties: Tocai 40%, Moscato 40%, Riesling R. 20%. Damijan Podversic

At present, Damijan is one of the most alert and knowledgeable producers demonstrating awareness, down to the finest of details, of delicate balances which affect the vine and the wine. For years, the company has been experimenting with wine-making employing longlasting maceration of white grapes, even up to three months. No synthetic products are used in the vineyard or in the cellar, just nature and good sense. Their wine can be defined as a “great wine”.

Another characteristic of this grape is the low yield per hectare (approximately 60 ql per hectare and 50-55 litres per 100 kg of grapes), the growing of which has been reduced owing to issues of convenience. A very structured wine is achieved.

TREBBIANO D’ABRUZZO Le Vigne - 2012

Produced using a homegrown variety of Trebbiano known as “Passerina”. The grapes are crushed, cold macerated, fermented at a low temperature and the finished wine immediately undergoes “surlie” fining for six months. When finally bottled, the wine best expresses its character after at least one year from production.

AGLIANICO DEL VULTURE Antelio - 2011

The cellar, dug into the tuff is a thousand years old and is found in the Cellar Park of the Commune of Rapolla, a small town at the foot of Monte Vulture, a volcano which has been inactive since the prehistoric period. Parts of the old vineyards were recovered and at present, two natural types of Aglianico del Vulture, are produced. The objective is to express the maximum potential of the wine with the conviction that this is only possible by returning back to natural agriculture and transformation which can only be governed by nature.

Terreno alluvionale sciolto e ben drenato, derivante dalla sedimentazione nel corso dei secoli dei detriti ghiaiosi portati dalle piene del fiume Piave.

Mani esperte hanno raccolto i migliori grappoli, che sono staticonservati in cassette e in graticci fino al mese di aprile,estremizzando così l’appassimento per oltre sei mesi.Macerazione per 20 giorni in acciaio e successiva fermentazione in barriques.

Conservazione delle varie annate separatamente in barriques e tonneaux fino all’assemblaggio in percentuali decrescenti delle quattro grandi annate (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009).

27 febbraio 2014 e sosta in cantina per alcuni mesi.

Colore rosso rubino intenso con riflessi granati.Sentori di marasca sotto spirito, frutta appassita come datteri, fichi e uva sultanina. Dal sapore sontuoso, sapido e con tannini poderosi, ben contrastati dalle note dell’alcool, ha un retrogusto lungo e piacevole.
