run. Sometimes you stand still, other times you jump up and down. How does your body react when you run or jump up and down? Does your heart beat the same way all the time?

Blood Travel Through the Body
The droplet travels into smaller and smaller branches of arteries until it finally enter a blood vessel so tiny that it is naked to he eye. In this vessel, known as a Capillary, nutrients are exchanged for waste products.
Now that the blood has given up its Food and Oxygen, it must return to the heart to refuel. The droplet of blood leaves the capillary, and heads into a larger blood vessel called a Vein.

Blood Travel Through the Body
The blood makes its way through branches of veins until it finds itself in the largest vein found in the body. This vein has two separate entranceways into the heart. Blood in need of refueling coming from the head and arms enters the heart through the Superior Vena Cava. Blood in need of refueling coming from the legs enters the heart through the Inferior Vena Cava.
The Vena Cava’s pour blood lacking oxygen into which chamber of the heart? Atrium.

Vocabulary
Heart- The muscle that acts as the pump for the circulatory system.
Blood Pressure- The force of blood pushing against the blood vessel walls.

Vocabulary
Valve- one-way opening from one chamber or blood vessel to another, prevents the back-flow of blood.
Septum- Wall of the heart, separates left side from right.
Aorta- Largest blood vessel, carries oxygen rich blood to the body.

Finding Your Target Fitness Zone
1. Subtract your age from 220. This will tell you your maximum heart rate.
2. Multiply your maximum heart rate x 60%. This number is your minimum heart rate for fitness to take place.
3. Multiply your maximum heart rate x 85%. This number is your maximum heart rate for fitness to take place.
4. Your target heart rate falls between your maximum heart rate and your minimum heart rate.

Example
220-11= 209209 = Max Heart Rate
209 x .6= 125125 = Minimum heart rate for fitness
209 x .85= 178178 = Maximum heart rate for fitness
Target Heart Rate falls between:125-178
