Welcome to Carbrook Golf Club

Firstly, would like to thank you for taking interesting in our Junior Sharks Golf Program at Carbrook Golf Club. Our primary aim is to generate a fun, safeand enjoyable golfing experience for your son or daughter. But also to teachthem the game of golf, along with advice from qualified coaches each child willlearn the following fundamentals:

-  Rules and etiquette-  Standards of appropriate behaviour on and off the course-  How to obtain a handicap and improve on it-  How to complete a scorecard-  Golf dress code-  Safety procedures (ensuring the safety of themselves and others)

Fees1st Term (8 weeks) - $992nd and subsequent terms - $69(8 weeks)

Your 1st term fees include membership of the national MyGolf program – www.mygolf.org.au 

Session TimesSunday – 9:30am – 10:30am

Each month will work on arotation cycle of differentskills/games/tuition. This willprovide the children with avariety of activities and keepthem interested.

All activities will work in handwith the MYGOLF skills test. Thistest is divided into 3 categoriesGold, Silver and Bronze.

FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions

What does my Junior Shark Membership include?

 As a Junior Shark member you will receive access to our 8 week golf program with a one hour session each Sunday. You will also receive membership of the MyGolf National Junior Golf Program, which includes some fantastic gifts and access to  www.mygolf.org.au. You will alsoreceive course access for the Carbrook Golf Club every day for the term of the program after 3:00pm subject to availability. If you are 14 years or under you will need to have an adult supervise you while you are playing.

Are your coaches all officially qualified coaches?

Yes, all our coaches and volunteers have completed coaching courses through the AustralianSports Commission and all hold valid Blue Cards.

Does my child require parental participation?

Parental participation is not requi red, but if you would like to participate in your child’s training,

 please don’t hesitate to contact our Junior Co-ordinator, Nelson Turner who will advise what isrequired.

When can juniors play without being in a competition?

 Junior Shark members will be able to access our course every day of the week after 3pm (subject to availability). For children under 14 years and under we require an adult to accompany them(whether they play or just supervise). Once the child graduates to full Junior membership (just $99) they will have the same playing rights as senior members. This allows them to play socially at no cost at any time (subject to availability), and once they have gained an Australian Handicapthey may play in the various competitions (additional cost) offered throughout the week at theclub.

What equipment will my child need?

It is not essential for your child to have any equipment, as we will provide what is required for the Junior Program. As your child progresses and becomes more advanced they will start to play onthe golf course. When this stage is reached they will require their own set of clubs (only a few clubs), adequate balls, tees, a marker and pencil. Our friendly PGA Professionals can assist you inadvising the equipment that can be purchased or hired through our pro shop.

Who trains my child?

We have an enthusiastic and dedicated group of volunteers lead by our PGA Trainee Professional Nelson Turner. We ensure all of our volunteers are trained and hold a Blue Card (working withChildren check). For more information please contact Nelson.

What happens if a session is rained out?

In the case of rain we will post a message on the Carbrook Golf Club website homepage, and of course feel free to ring and confirm. If a session is rained out we will have an extra session on theSunday following the last scheduled day of the program for that term.
