CANNONDALE Cannondale’s mission is to create innovative, quality products that inspire cyclists around the world. And they have most certainly done that. Beautiful and practical innovations such as the SI Hollowgram Crank, which is the lightest and stiffest crank set on the market today, has brought the company and designers Mario Galasso, Tod Patterson, Chris Peck and team fame. The company has always been like this too. When starting out in 1971 in an old shop the team came up with the first cycling trailer. The company grew and grew and really defined themselves when introducing their first race bike in the early 80’s. Cannondale was famous for their hand crafted aluminum frames which were not only lighter but stiffer than the steel bikes of the time. Today Cannondale is the leading high end cycling company in the world, but sponsoring many tours as well. However one of the biggest differences between Cannondale and other cycling companies are the designers. Mario Galasso, Tod Patterson, Chris Peck and their team create the cycle in conjunction with each other. This provides an encouraging atmosphere because the designers play off of each other. This is in stark contrast to other companies which, rather than working together, work more like an assembly line where one group waits until the previous group is done to work on their part of the cycle. This philosophy has brought the team great accolades and proves to be the best type of environment to work in. When observing their bikes, one can see a difference as well. The design team is able to bring something new to the table every time they conceive a new type of bicycle. It’s not wonder that their designs are the highest of the high end in cycle design. 03 -03-
