– 97,182 total number of alumni– 52,675 total alumni living in Kansas– 32,672 total alumni living outside of Kansas– 79,102 living graduates– 81,043 total graduates
• Recordkeeping– The association researches and records information on more than 103,000 alumni
records.– More than 10 million fields of database information are maintained.– Alumni records house more than 25,000 archived biographical files of news releases,
photographs and articles.

– The tradition of Homecoming returned to campus after a 20-year hiatus in 2010.– 41% of honored high school students who attend Shocker Honors Scholars Banquet register for
classes at Wichita State.– Since 1955 the Alumni Awards spotlight the achievements and service of extraordinary alumni,
faculty and staff.– Rockin’ the Roundhouse raises nearly 300,000 annually for the benefit of the alumni association and
WSU Athletics.
• Communication– The alumni magazine, The Shocker, is the only WSU publication that annually reaches all alumni
members. This award-winning magazine is distributed in Fall and Spring.– The Shocker Online, a monthly enewsletter, is distributed to alumni members to keep timely news
and information flowing throughout the Shocker community.
• Scholarships– WSU Alumni Association’s Legacy Endowed Scholarships are awarded annually to children or
grandchildren of individuals who have completed 30 or more credit hours at Wichita State.– Since its inception the Drive Your Pride license plate program has raised more than $200,000 for
student scholarships.
Enrollment Services• Enrollment Services
– Provide vision and oversight for Undergraduate Admissions, Orientation, Financial Aid and Scholarships
– Select, advise and provide oversight for the Dean’s Scholars program (both prospective and current Dean’s Scholars)
– There are over 100 Dean’s Scholars currently on campus, with the charter class entering their senior year
• Undergraduate Admissions– Serves undergraduate, domestic students (US citizens, permanent and undocumented residents)– The Office of Admissions recruits, admits and provides orientation to new Shockers through on/off
campus programming, representation at college and community fairs, plus visits to high schools and colleges. In short, admissions spreads the WSU message throughout the state and beyond
– Admissions provides special outreach and programming for middle school, high school, transfer and returning adults

Enrollment Services (continued)• For the Office of Financial Aid: More information at www.wichita.edu/financialaid– Disburses over $90 million dollars annually in federal, state, institutional, and outside aid to approximately 60% of our
student body– Veteran’s Services are also housed within the Office of Financial Aid; second floor, Jardine Hall. We currently serve
approximately 500 veteran students with their educational benefits.– Students can access their financial aid and scholarship information 24/7 online via the mywsu.wichita.edu website.
Students can pay their bill electronically as well.
• Scholarships: Scholarship information is available online at www.wichita.edu/scholarships – Institutional scholarships – five major areas– General Scholarships – awarded through the Office of Financial Aid– Academic College Scholarships – specific to majors and awarded by each college– Athletic Scholarships – based on athletic abilities and awarded through coaches and Athletics– Outside Scholarships – funds awarded to students through external organizations – Other – Departments and Campus Organization scholarship support through departmental resources, student fees and/or
grants– Incoming/new students are awarded through the online general scholarship application, the DSI competition, academic
college competitions, and other programs and specific scholarship applications. Funding source is primarily mill levy dollars from Sedgwick County.
– Continuing/current student are awarded through renewals and recommendations from each academic college. Funding source is primarily WSU Foundation endowed and current funds, with some also awarded from mill levy dollars.
