Forms required for each camp participant:[ ] Online CampSite Registration [ ] 2019 acac Policies & Procedures[ ] Proof of identity- Copy of birth certificate or passport[ ] Virginia School Health Forms/ Immunization RecordChildren will not be permitted to attend the program until all necessary documents have been completed.

Arrival and Dismissal camp is available from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Campers should arrive by 9:00 am and should be picked up no later than 1:30 pm for half-day campers and 6:00 pm for full-day campers. All campers must be signed in and out at drop off and pickup from the facility. Campers that are not signed in by a parent or guardian will not be permitted into the camp. If using acac Transportation please see page 7 of the Camp guide for pick up times and locations.

Drop-off Procedure: Drop off will occur at the turf field entrance. If morning weather is unfavorable, drop off will occur at the Adventure Central Main Arena entrance.

Pickup Procedure: A parent/guardian or authorized person must sign their children out with the counselors. Please park your vehicle in a designated parking spot and turn the motor off before entering the building to pick up your child. We ask that you drive conservatively and obey all speed limits in the parking lot as there are many children at play!

Alternate Pickup: For safety reasons, acac Summer Camp staff will not release any child to an individual not listed on the child’s summer camp registration. If someone other than the parent or guardian will be picking up your child, please let us know and inform the person that we will be asking for identification.

Late Policy: After the camp day ends at 6:00pm, the late pickup charge is $1.00 per minute. All children that remain after the close of camp can be picked up at the arena entrance. If a child has not been picked up within ten minutes after the specific pick-up time and acac has not been notified by the parent, acac will attempt to contact the parent(s). If the parent(s) are unreachable, the emergency contacts will then be contacted. Multiple infractions of late pick-up at bus stops will result in forfeiture of transportation services.

Recreational Swim/Pool Time: All full day campers will have daily opportunity in the pools, as weather permits. All part time campers will have recreational swim time as the schedule allows

Behavior and Discipline: To help us form a positive “team” approach between parents and counselors, we are asking that you please review the following behavior guidelines with your camper. These guidelines have been set to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun camp experience. Each camper is responsible for his/ her own behavior. If your camper is having difficulty with another camper, seek a counselor and let them help you solve the problem. • Any acts of aggression, either provoked or otherwise, will result in camp suspension. • Each camper is expected to respect direction from counselors the first time.• Each camper is expected to use appropriate language at all times. Our camp counselors are experienced in working with young children and are very capable of handling most situations. We do not anticipate any problems that together we cannot solve. However, if aggressive, disruptive, or dangerous behavior continues, a parent or guardian will be called and asked to come take the camper home. Continued behavior difficulties may result in a camper being suspended from the program. Refunds will NOT be given when a child is excused from camp.

Health Policy: To help us maintain good health practices, children should be kept home and/or be sent home with any of the following symptoms: • Vomiting • Diarrhea • Suspicious rash • Any communicable disease (chicken pox, strep throat, pink eye etc.)• 100+ degree temperature. If a child has been diagnosed with a fever in or outside of the center, the child is not permitted back to the program for 24 hours after the fever has subsided. In the event that your child becomes ill at camp, you will be notified for immediate pick up of your child.

Communicable Disease and Head lice: acac must be notified within 24 hours or the next business day after a child or any member of the immediate household has been treated for head lice or has developed any reportable communicable disease as defined by the State Board of Health. Life threatening diseases must be reported immediately.

Medicine: acac Summer Camp will administer emergency medication only (such as epi-pens and inhalers). A MAT form must be completed before acac will administer medication to your child during camp hours. This form authorizes acac to administer medicine for up ten days without a doctor’s signature. Medication must be in the original box with the prescription label and accompany a completed MAT form in order to be accepted.
