Monthly Report November 2017
November is the month when the weather is excellent, which makes it the ideal time for trips
and excursions and outdoor play. Unfortunately, pollution played spoil-sport and schools had
to be closed for 3 working days.
A. Outings During the Month
✓ Class III visited the Humayun’s Tomb as a part of their SST curriculum. The visit was conducted
by volunteers from the Aga Khan Trust. The children were taken to all the structures in the
complex such as Bu Halima’s Garden and Tomb, Isa Khan’s Mosque and Tomb, Arab-Sarai and
the Humayun’s Tomb, as well as the Charbagh. Before taking a look at each of these structures,
the children were given a short history lesson and some information about each structure by
the volunteers. At the end of the trip, the students had a small session in cartooning and
calligraphy, by experts from the Agha Khan Trust.

✓ As a part of the class III Social Studies curriculum, students study their neighborhood through
several field trips. The children visited the Community Centre and The Canara Bank (NFC
branch). The bank officials enthusiastically showed the children around important counters and
locations within the bank such as the cash counter and the lockers. The children were shown
how fake notes get detected in the bank using the Fake Note Detecting & Counting Machine.
The children were then taken on a walking tour of the community center.
Class III students also visited the Okhla Landfill. The children saw truckloads of trash being
dumped on to hills of piled up garbage.

➢ The school organized an educational trip for the students of Class IV to KIDZANIA situated in
Noida.
KidZania is a Global Indoor Theme Park that inspires and educates children through its 90+
role-playing activities, helping them understand & manage their world better. Built like a city for
children, it has paved roads, battery operated cars, buildings, a fuselage of an A320 airplane, a
functioning economy & its own currency. Each activity is specifically designed to develop
different behavioural skills and values. It was a fun filled day for all the students who went.

centre. The children were shown different kinds of postcards and stamps; the procedure of
posting and delivering letters was also explained in detail to the children. At the end, the
children posted their own postcards (which they had written a day in advance in school) in the
letter box, kept just outside the post office.
