Instructions:
Step 1 - Make a square by folding the short edge of an A4 sheet of paper to
meet the long side and form a triangle. Cut off the excess rectangle of paper
at the bottom.
Step 2 - Unfold the triangle and fold the opposite corners together to form a
cross shaped crease in the middle of the square paper.
Step 3 - Fold each corner of the square into the middle and run your finger
over the folds to make sharp creases.
Step 4 - Turn over the now smaller square and fold the corners into the
middle making sure that the folds have a sharp crease with your finger.
Step 5 - Fold the small square in half one way then in half the other way and
place your fingers under the flaps on the other side to form a chatter box or
fortune teller shape.

Instructions:
Step 6 - Flatten out the shape again and glue two sides of the chatterbox
together as shown.
Step 7 - Measure the side of the “mouth” and cut two squares of red paper.
Cut out the red squares and glue them to the inside of the puppet’s mouth.
Step 8 - Use the end of the glue stick or a 20 cent piece to trace two circles
to use as eyes. Cut them out and draw on pupils. Glue to the puppet above
the mouth.
Step 9 - Draw a long tongue on a piece of red paper and draw a fly at the
end. Cut it out and stick it to the inside of the mouth.
Step 10 - Use the offcut rectangle of paper to cut two strips of paper for legs.
Fold them in a zig zag pattern so they look like springs and glue cut-out feet
shapes to the end. Glue legs to the bottom of your puppet.
You can make all sorts of different puppets using this technique like
sharks, aliens, puppies and much more. Add paper horns, ears, arms,
fins and feathers to create any creature you can think of.
