Webinars: Pros and Cons
Pro: Moving with the Times!
Con: Expect the Unexpected! (Power outages)
Pro: Opportunity to increase size and scope of audience relatively inexpensively.
Con: Lack of in-person connection might lead to less investment in program or opportunity.
Pro: Connect with local, national, and international audiences
Con: Requires more staffing and time in the planning and practice stages
Pro: Participatory, differentiated learning
Con: Technical difficulties come up and do not always get resolved
Connecting with on-line audiences, what strategies do you use/have you used for engaging your audience?
Strategy 1: Include as many different ways to participate as possible.
Strategy 2: Activities should be easy to implement but engaging.
Strategy 3: Allow for open-ended thoughts/discussions.
Strategy 4: Have a staff member serve as a production assistant.
