In a dramatic moment, everything was eerily still. Our stores, neighborhoods, and churches once teeming with activity became silent. I knew, however, that we could not stay quiet. I needed to provide calm and consistent messaging to the staff, patients, and our community at large. Our mission is clear: to provide quality home care, wellness, and public health services in the community. And so our team left the quiet behind and we became loud and boisterous. We became loud about social distancing and masks. We became loud about hand hygiene and mental health. We became very loud in advocating for PPE. I do often think of my nursing colleagues one hundred years ago calmly leading their patients through the influenza pandemic. A century later, we follow their best practices advocating for the community. Thank you for supporting our mission and helping us to raise our voices above the quiet of the pandemic. Defining Our MissionOne of my clearest memories of 2020 was the sudden panic that was in all of my colleagues’, friends’, and families’ faces.
