MH Southern offers a choice of industrially applied preservative treatments to make sure your cladding timbers will have an extended service life, fully protected against the threat of decay or insect attack for exterior claddings.

Next generation TANALISED timber has the ultimate long term protection against wood decay and insect attack.

TANALISED timber is timber which has been impregnated with TANALITH E wood preservative under controlled conditions in our high pressure vacuum impregnation plant.

The treated timber has an initial natural green colouration. On external exposure, the green colour slowly weathers to a warm, honey brown and in the longer term becomes a natural silver grey. This weathering process does not indicate any loss of preservative protection.

We can also offer TANATONE treatment for your claddings. All the protection benefits of TANALISED timber but with a rich brown colour already added.

VACSOL Aqua timber preservative is industrially applied in our controlled low pressure, double vacuum plant. This process gives an outer envelope of protection to the cladding timbers. Less moisture is absorbed than in high pressure treatments allowing the wood to dry quicker and helping to retain its original dimensions.

The appearance and colour of VACSOL Aqua treated claddings remains virtually unchanged.

VACSOL Aqua treated cladding timbers should only be used above the damp proof course of any building. When used in exterior applications, they must have a suitable surface coating applied to maintain the

In certain situations Building Regulations demand that cladding timbers have a fire retardant protection for safety reasons.

By far the most reliable and low maintenance method to supply this protection is by industrially applied pressure treatments. Through our treatment partners, Arch Timber Protection, MH Southern offers a choice of two proven products to meet your particular needs.

DRICON is the only BBA certified fire retardant treatment for timber. The humidity resistant protection allows the treated claddings to be used for all interior and some weather protected (coated) exterior applications.

NON-COM EXTERIOR is a leach resistant fire protection and allows the treated cladding to be used in full exterior situations, without the need for a protective coating.

Both products have over 25 years of proven commercial use in building projects around the world. The fire propagation and surface spread of flame protection meets either Euroclass B & C (EN 13501-1) requirements to dramatically slow down fire spread and reduce both heat and smoke generation in the event of a fire. Real assurance that will help save lives and restrict any fire damage costs.

Our fire retardant treatments provide a natural final appearance to the cladding timbers. However, if you require a decorative finish for your fire protected timbers we offer appropriate approved coating systems in a range of colours and finishes. Please see over for details.

DRYWOOD WOODSTAIN is a low film build coating that penetrates deeply into the wood and gives a high performance coating to NON-COM Exterior fire retardant treated larch cladding timbers.

The thin film layer of DRYWOOD WOODSTAIN allows the timber to breathe and prevents excessive dirt retention on the coating surface. The product weathers slowly and equally over the surface making subsequent maintenance a simple task.

The ‘even weathering’ semi-opaque DRYWOOD WOODSTAIN finish provides an immediate natural grey weathered appearance to cladding. It is intended to be left to fully weather naturally over time, with no maintenance required.

High Quality PRIMER ServiceMHS now offer a priming service on many of our timber claddings.

Save hours of applying a primer by brush and let us spray your cladding with an acrylic white primer so all you have to do is apply your desired top coat finish.

Not only does it save you time, it also helps you achieve a perfect finish as there are no brush marks when the primer is applied by spraying.

DRYWOOD FIRESTAIN is available in a wide range of opaque and translucent colours. The thin film layer of DRYWOOD FIRESTAIN allows the timber to breathe and prevents excessive dirt retention on the coating surface. DRYWOOD FIRESTAIN can easily be re-applied with minimum preparation to maintain its appearance and the fire performance of the DRICON treated timbers.
