1. General overview The Calculation Manager enables to calculate projects and define the corresponding calculation principles. In this document the functions plus calculation types are explained on the basis of simple examples. Before performing a correct calculation, the cost center, operations and routings as well as calculation principles must be defined.

2. Calculation principle The dialog calculation principle is called via the entry calculation principle in the Calculation Manager. The settings within the calculation principles are evaluated when executing an article calculation. Define principle as default The calculations are always executed with the calculation principle by default where the function “Define principle as default” is activated. Overhead calculation In the section overhead calculation all surcharges or discounts, that have an effect on the overhead calculation, are entered.

Function Explanation
Price from field With the support of the dropdown box there is the possibility to select from three different price fields. The values for the price fields are defined in the Article Designer. See chapter 9.4. Catalog price calculation.
View price fields The settings in this section have an effect on the article calculation. The following is explained in detail
Function Explanation
Rounding price fields The selection box refers to rounding up or down of prices with the article calculation. The following options are available:
Do not round the price
Round to ones i.e. 566,77 -> 567,00
Round to tens i.e. 566,77 -> 570,00
Price field The function defines which price in the offer fields should be applied in the article calculation.

3. Cost center A cost center is the location of the cost occurrence and supply of services. A cost center is composed of fields of responsibility as well as spatial, functional, organizational structures or accountancy aspects. In the imos Organizer a cost center is explained as the allocation of costs to an operating organizational unit to define the cost rates for a manufacturing unit. Cost centers are allocated to the operations in the imos Organizer.

Name The cost center is listed under this name in the organizer and allocated to the operation.
Description Info text
Sequence Defines the sequence of the cost centers in the grid.
Costs Details of the incurred costs for the cost center.
Currency Details of the costs in € / per hour.

4. Operation Operations define a single machining operation. They are defined by the allocated cost centers and specified times. The times for an operation can be defined by formulas.

To point 1: As already mentioned, the time can be defined with formulas. To simplify creating the formula, take the formula editor and there go to the row time by using the arrows. (To point 1)
On the left side of the formula editor are the functions. If a function is selected, a short description of the function appears on the right side. By double clicking, the marked function can be transferred to the field formula. In the section note to formula it is visible at a glance if the entered formula is alright. Under result the result of the formula is displayed.

To point 2: The formula round([HOLECNT]/6)*3 for the lineboring is composed of:
round is that the result of ([HOLECNT]/6) is rounded
[HOLECNT] is for the number of holes in a lineboring
In this case 6 holes can be drilled in a operation and therefore the number of holes is divided by 6
A drilling process lasts 3 seconds and therefore the rounded result is multiplied by 3.
5.2 Example for milling rectangular pockets
The operation for a rectangular pocket is described with the time formula “(*AREA+/10000)*12“. The formula is composed of the following parameters:
[AREA] is for the area of the rectangular pocket
The machining center needs about 12 seconds to mill a rectangular pocket to a size of 10.000mm² (is equivalent to 1dm²)

6. Example for the calculating of operations
6.1 Operation of the type “Machining“
For explaining the automatism of the operation type machining, a calculation has been performed as an example. The calculated order has only an article which consists of a top shelf.
With the first calculation the top shelf does not have a rectangular pocket yet.
Before the second calculation was performed, a macro had been added in the shape of a rectangular pocket to the top shelf. With the subsequent calculation the operation is automatically included in the calculation
Explanation: The total sum for the order was 8.20€ with the first calculation. With the second calculation the milling of the rectangular pockets 0.30€ was added to the sum and the total amounts is 8.50€ (8.20 + 0.30)

8. Routing The routings involve a certain order level for operations. Routings include one or several routings. The Catalog Manager enables to allocate the routings to the imos elements.

Allocation of routings The following options are available: 1. Individually allocate routings (yellow).

3. Automatically allocate routings with condition (blue) The routings is automatically allocated to all imos elements.
The allocation is limited due to the set filters below

Function Explanation
Filter name The entered filter is only applied if “allocation of routings“ the value „automatically allocate with condition“ is selected in the field. By clicking once on the button next to the entry, a dialog window opens for creating and configuring the filter criteria. Working with the filters is explained afterwards!
Operations All operations allocated to the routings are listed in the bottom section.

8.1 Define filter for routings
The button next to the entry filter name opens a dialog window. In the dialog filters can be created and configured. A filter is composed of the field description (1), the condition (2) and a freely definable value (3) to form filter criteria. With the AND function or OR function several filter criteria can be combined into one filter. With the AND function all filter criteria must be fulfilled. With the OR function one of the applied conditions must be fulfilled. The available filter definitions are on the left side of the dialog classified according to the type in the folder. It automatically jumps to the selected types that it corresponds with in the folder. Already created filters are listed in the

selection box below the field description (4). For applying the filter as a condition, it must be selected with the support of the selection box. Afterwards it can be transferred with the function. werden.
Button Name Explanation
New Filter Creates a new filter. At first a dialog opens where the name of the new filter and type can be defined. Besides a comment can be added. If the dialog is confirmed, the filter is created and depending on the selected type stored in the corresponding folder. Afterwards the first filter criteria can be set. Please, read chapter Fehler! Save Filter Saves the modifications made on the selected filter.
Delete Filter Deletes the currently selected filter.
Add condition The button transfers the set filter criteria in the bottom list and is added as a
condition to the filter.
Delete condition Deletes the selected filter criteria from the bottom list and therefore from the filter.
Modify condition The button enables the process of an already created filter criteria.
At first the desired filter criteria must be selected from the bottom list. Afterwards the field description, the condition or the entered value can be modified. If the button "Modify condition" is activated, then the made modifications are taken. The filter criteria for modifying must be selected!
Filter as condition
The function enables to connect complete filters to one filter. In doing so, it is possible to combine different relations together. For example, two different filters which contain an Or-link can be combined with an And-link into one filter.

8.2 Create new filter
For creating a new filter, the function new filter is called. At first a new dialog opens. 1. In this dialog the name (1) and type (2) of the filter is defined. In the section below a comment can be saved. By confirming the dialog, a new filter is created and is filed in a directory
Afterwards the filter criteria for the new filter are created A filter criteria is composed of the field description (3), the condition (4) and a freely definable value (5) to a formula.

Function Explanation
Field description The available field descriptions depend on the set types. The field descriptions for the type articles begin with the name ARTICLES.*. The subsequent name describes the field which has to be filtered.

Wert The entered value can be freely defined. Number values as well as text values can be defined.
If the formula has the desired structure, it can be transferred with the function add condition to the bottom grid and therefore to the filter. Further filter criteria can be added to the filter in the same way. The individual links can be either connected to an AND link or an OR link. Click on the radio button to select the correct linking method. If the filter is completed, the made settings are saved and the dialog can be closed.

9. Calculation types The calculation distinguishes between different types of calculations. In imos the difference is shown between the overhead calculation, the calculation material and time, the catalog price calculation and the article calculation.
9.1 Definition of costs
Definition from the german Wikipedia:
9.1.1 Direct material costs Direct materials cost is the cost of direct materials which can be easily identified with the unit of production which are directly allocated to a cost unit in the account. Direct material costs are the basis for the allocation of the indirect material costs. For example, the direct material costs are the costs for a blank work piece which is manufactured later. The costs for the blank work piece are readily allocated to the subsequent product (e.g. shaft/axle).
9.1.2 Material Overhead Cost Material overhead costs are a part of the material costs; such as costs that are not directly allocated to individual cost units (products). A simple example for material overhead costs could be procurement costs (packaging costs, freight costs), storage costs for the warehouse where several materials are stored or inspection costs. For example, these cost positions can include the personnel costs for employees in the warehousing and purchasing but also the operating costs and depreciation of respective buildings (e.g. warehouse). The annual material overhead costs are derived from the annual cost center planning. The indirect material overhead cost is calculated from the ratio of the material overhead costs to the annual material usage. This overhead is then surcharged on the consumed materials. In a cost account the direct material costs and the indirect material costs are added together to calculate the material costs.
9.1.3 Manufacturing costs The manufacturing costs are part of the production costs and evaluate the direct, not material-related resources application of the production process (e.g. unit labor costs as well as indirect overheads with the production e.g. room and energy costs as well as special production costs like e.g. order-related production costs of special tools, production planning costs and quality control. …

The manufacturing overheads can be calculated by the means of an overhead calculation on the basis of direct manufacturing costs or can already be integrated by determining the cost center tariff in the rate for manufacturing item time.
9.1.4 Direct manufacturing cost Direct manufacturing costs are those costs of the manufacturing which are directly added to a cost unit. For example, the labor cost of the production employees (e.g. such as task wage). The special direct production costs of the manufacturing must be abstracted from the normal direct costs. These cannot be allocated/assigned to a specific unit but to an order or to lot/batch. This includes special tools and construction drawings. The direct manufacturing costs are the basis for the allocation of indirect manufacturing costs in the full-cost accounting
9.1.5 Manufacturing Overhead Costs Manufacturing overhead Costs are part of the production costs; those are the costs of the manufacturing section that cannot be directly allocated to individual cost units. They are collected in the cost center account in the manufacturing final cost center. Afterwards the costs in the cost unit account are allocated to the cost unit (for example, in the
overhead calculation by means of the direct manufacturing costs as surcharge basis).

9.2 Overhead calculation
The diagram illustrates which factors are applied for the overhead calculation. The definitions of the individual costs are in the following chapter Fehler! Verweisquelle konnte nicht gefunden werden. Definition of costs.
9.2.1 Example for an overhead calculation The example order consists of one article which has only a part and top shelf.

Manufacturing costs The manufacturing costs result from routings allocated to the part. The routings can be stored on different levels of the part. The routing consists of one or several operations which have access to a cost center again.

9.2.2 Perform an overhead calculation For starting a calculation, the function calculation must be selected in the Calculation Manager. Afterwards mark the desired project in the top grid and call the context menu by right-clicking and select the function overhead
calculation . Note: Performing the calculation can take a moment. The result of the overhead calculation is displayed in the bottom grid. The tree structure can be expanded further for a detailed subdivision of the costs.

9.3 Calculation material and time
In the calculation material and time the pure direct material costs and the direct manufacturing costs are summed up to one price. This calculation type does not depend on the calculation principles
The direct material costs are composed of following components: Material (price/m² x area) Surfaces (price/m² x area) Profiles (price/m x length) Purchased parts (price/part x number) SPP (price/m x length)
The direct manufacturing costs are calculated from the costs of the cost centers and the time of the operations.

9.3.1 Perform calculation material and time For starting a calculation, the function calculation must be selected in the Calculation Manager. Afterwards mark the desired project in the top grid and call the context menu by right-clicking and select the function calculation
material and time . Note: Performing the calculation can take a moment. In the bottom grid you receive a detailed list of the required material and production times. The costs/prices result from the consumption of material and expenditure of time. The calculation and time exclusively calculates the production costs for an article.

9.4 Catalog price calculation *
With the catalog price calculation the offer price can be calculated on the basis of different price fields. The prices in the price fields for an article are defined in imos Article Designer.
Three prices can be stored for every article. The prices can be entered either as a fixed value or as a formula.
By clicking the button , dialog catalog price calculation can be called. The three stored prices, which should be transferred to the calculation, are set in the calculation principle. *) This function is optional in imos.

9.5 Article calculation
9.5.1 Perform article calculation For starting a calculation, the function calculation must be selected in the Calculation Manager. Afterwards mark the desired project in the top grid and call the context menu by right-clicking and select the function article
calculation . Note: Performing the calculation can take a moment. The result of the article calculation is displayed in the bottom grid. The tree structure can be further expanded for a detailed subdivision of the costs. The grid receives a list of the different calculation types (calculation principles) and the resulting prices.

9.5.2 Structure of the Article calculation Overhead calculation: The entered price is the result of the overhead calculation. Material overhead calculation: The price results from the material overhead calculation. The calculation is calculated by using the material overhead factor in the calculation principle. Catalog price calculation: The prices of the column catalog price calculation are from the price fields in the Article Designer. If no prices are stored, the catalog price is indicated with 0,00 €.
The blue shaded column is transferred to the column offer price. The calculation method, which should be applied as the basis for the offer price, is defined in the calculation principle.

Offer price: The offer price can either be composed of overhead calculation, material overhead calculation or the defined price fields. The calculation selected for the offer is defined in the calculation principle. The offer price can be edited manually by double clicking in the corresponding row. Number: The number results from the content of the order/project. Total price: The total price results from the offer price x number. If the offer price is modified, the total price adjusts automatically. Surcharge / discount The column surcharge/discount is correlated with the offer price. If the offer price is manually modified, the column surcharge/discount will adjust automatically. Conversely, the surcharge/discount can be manually defined. See also chapter 9.5.3 Overhead/discount

9.5.3 Overhead/discount The surcharges and discounts in the article calculation can be adjusted to the desire of the user.
By right clicking one of the rows, the context menu opens and by calling the function overhead/discount the dialog surcharge/discount opens.
The entered value can be either evaluated as percentage discount
or surcharge. If modifications have already been performed, the surcharge/discount can be reset for the marked row.
In this case the made settings refer only to the marked row.
Resetting all surcharges/discounts can be carried out with the support of the function reset discount. The function is also in the context menu of the bottom grid

9.6 Create cover sheet with Word
The cover sheet can only be created if an article calculation has been performed.
The function Create cover sheet with Word is in the context menu of the bottom grid. When creating the cover sheet, the customer’s number and offer number from the project information are taken and inserted in the template. The template file is saved under the name Calculation.DOT and stored in the directory <Config>\List. A *.DOC is automatically created from the template which has the name of the corresponding project. This file is also saved in the directory <Config>\List. The template for the cover letter as well as the cover letter itself can be configured with word. However, it is only possible to modify the existing texts.

9.7 Download to Excel
The performed calculation can be transferred to Excel and processed further there. For this purpose the context menu must be opened in the bottom grid and the function Transfer to Excel has to be called.
The Excel table has the same structure as the calculation/ the offer in the grid. This means, for example, if individual branches of the tree structure are expanded, they are also displayed expanded in the print preview and vice versa.

9.8 Change calculation principle
The calculation is always performed with the percentage surcharges from the calculation principle which is defined as default. To apply another calculation principle, the principle must be changed and the calculation has to be performed again.
For changing the calculation principle, the context menu is opened in the bottom grid by right clicking and the function calculation principle is started. In doing so, the dialog of the calculation principles opens.
By double clicking once on one of the other calculation principles (!), the calculation is automatically performed once more. Thereby the surcharges and other settings of the new principle are considered. Afterwards the dialog can be closed again.

9.9 Print the calculation
A print preview can be created form the performed calculation. For this purpose, the context menu is opened in the bottom grid by right clicking once and the function print overhead calculation or print calculation material and time and print article calculation can be called.
The print preview for the calculation receives the same structure as the calculation in the grid. This means, for example, if individual branches of the tree structure are expanded, they are also displayed expanded in the print preview and vice versa. The print preview for the article calculation contains the offer prices as well as article graphics and administrative data
