Created a Bit.ly URL of the event press release for the pitch email to track initial success of the pitch; all reporters opened the link. Followed up by phone with reporters, resulting in coverage in the local newspaper and on the websites of a local news station and the University of Oregon. Helped promote URL to local newspaper story, which received 112 Facebook likes, 23 tweets, seven recommendations on Google, and one share on LinkedIn.
