Cabrillo’s Big Green Garden Cabrillo Elementary School Big Green Garden Project 2015-2016 This year’s highlights include: development of the Garden Buddies project to provide middle school students with mentorship opportunities; incorporation of New Generation Science Standards and STEM into our outdoor classroom; hands-on learning about sustainability, health, and agriculture; career pathway discovery and local farm-to-table connections during our Pie Ranch field trip; irrigation system to help water conservation and plant growth; growing ingredients for the Cooking Elective (grades 6-8); resource management, problem solving, & collaboration skills; engineering and construction of additional planter boxes.
