Animals and Habitats

Content Area: Science Grade Level: 2nd Grade Summary: The purpose of the PowerPoint is for
students to learn that animals live in different places.
Learning Objective: Given questions in the PowerPoint, the student will be able to answer the questions about animals living in different places with 100% accuracy.
Content Standard: GLE 0207.2.2 Investigate living things found in different places.
Accomplishment: The students will gain an understanding of animals and their habitats and answer the questions within the PowerPoint.
A habitat is a place where a living thing lives.
Different animals live in different habitats. There are four things that an animal needs to survive in its habitat. 1. food 2. water3. shelter4. oxygen
What is a Habitat?
Take out a sheet of paper and try to name three different animals from three different habitats.
Example: A camel lives in the desert.
What Do You Know?
Two types of forests:
1. Deciduous Forest- where many trees grow with enough rainfall and seasons change
2. Rainforest- receives rain almost everyday and top of trees receive more sunlight than the bottom
