Deceased, a Dallas Police Officer, was shot at 503 East Tenth Street; was rushed

--to Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Missiles should

be retained and delivered to the Dallas Crime Lab.

External examination reveals a veil developed white nule measuring 5 foot, 11 inches

in length and weighing" an estimated 175 to lS3 pounds. The hair is black, slightly

wavy, very slight frontal balding. The iridco are bine, the pupils are equal at 5 an.

Rigor is not present. Very slight posterior mottled lividity and body heat is present.

Oral hygiene is good. The neck is not remarkable. Hair distribution is normal, the

penis ie circumcised. Identification bands on the Iftffc wrist, right wrist and left

There are four entrance types of wounds. So. 1 is 4 3/4 istchcs froa the top of thehead and 3 3/4 inches to the right of the nidliuc. This measures 3/3 * 1/4 inch andis surrounded by a contusion ring. 3o powder tattooing is noted at the margins.

Wound So. 2 ie 17 inches froa the top of the head on the right chest. It is 4 inches

to the right of the sddline, above and slightly aadial to the right nipple. It

aeasuzes 3/3 r 1/4 of an inch, surrounded by bruising. There is also a contusion ring.

Wound Eo. 3 is 21 inches froa the top of the bead, along the anterior lateral side ofthe right chest and ie 6 inches to the right of the aidline. This measures 5/16 x1/4 of as inch and is surrounded by a contusion ring.

"Booed So. 4 on the left chest is 20\ inches frees tha top of the head, l£ inches to tha

left of the aidlina. The wound.aeasureo 3/4 x 3/3 of an inch, is transverse andsurrounding this is a 1/4 x 3/4 inch abrasion.

There are penetrations of the raininess ia the regionsdescribed. Examination of the brain is otherwise cot remarkable.

The ahiToinal pannicuius measure# up to 7/3 of an inch. Tho oreams are in tho normalposition, Earn! nation of tho serous cavities is made. There is found to bo crtc-aslvo

peritoneal hemorrhage, approximately 300 cc. In tlx* richt pleural space these is iaexcess of 1000 cc. of blood.

there is extensive hcjsrrhnre in tho pericardial sac, approximately h ounces. Passesthrough tho superior vena cava. It exits into the radiastinun, strikes the fourththoracic vertebra to the left of tho nidline, courses in the substance of the vertebraan! is recovered slightly to the left of tho vertebra approximately 16 Indies from thetop of the heal, bavins pursued a coarse very slishtly upward, to the left, andbackwards.

tion which is*approximately 3x2.5 cu. It pursues a course backward, upward, and tothe left end is recovered fron the soft tissue of tho bach, 1o\ inches from the topof the head and 3/k of an inch to the rieht of the nidline. In its coarse it is also

found to acula penetrate the diaphrasa after {pi»3 threap the liver and penetrates the

posterior aspect of the rijjit lever lobe.

Vound Eo. U is examined. It is fe.nl to be superficial and no penetration of tho rib

case is noted. There is hasaorrhaoj beneath the abraded and bruised area adjacent tothe wound. 2o missiles are present ia this area.

KEGS: The lanes toother wsi^h 1200 ©a. The penetrations of the luns have previouslybeen described. There are areas of atelectasis and alons tho courses of the bullet

through the luns there is extensive hcraorrhace.

LUCE?: The liver veichs 1570 gu. The penetrations of tho liver have previously beendescribed. The cat surface of the liver is not remarkable.
