Research • Breast Cancer is a common cancer in women. It can be

inherited genetically, but it can also come randomly. • “The first sign of breast cancer often is a breast lump or

an abnormal mammogram. Breast cancer stages range from early, curable breast cancer to metastatic breast cancer, with a variety of breast cancer treatments. Male breast cancer is not uncommon and must be taken seriously”. (WebMD, June 5, 2014)

• “Breast cancer can be invasive or noninvasive. Invasive means it has spread from the milk duct or lobule to other tissues in the breast. Noninvasive means it has not yet invaded other breast tissue. Noninvasive breast cancer is called "in situ””. )New York Time, June 5, 2014)

Research (Cont.…) • My patient and I set out goals and in that she had

to set up a perceived sustainability to make herself believe that these small goals can be met. Skipping all the way to maintenance, because her treatments have already occurred, she must take these goals turn them into a reality, and keep it up as a mundane action. From maintenance to the ultimate goal of termination, which is never being tempted to go back to the habit, it can be tough. I am not talking about going back to having cancer again but staying healthy and doing the accumulative physical activity set up.

Theory Transtheoretical Theory

• There isn’t anything one can do after treating breast cancer. But, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and continuing with that routine can help with preventing any further damage in general.

• It is stated by the American Cancer Society that one can lower the risk factors by changing them. For example, boy weight, physical activity, and diet have all be contacted to breast cancer so these are the areas to improve.

Smart Goal(s)• The goal that was set was to continue to take

action in this patient’s routine. Being, getting up and eating breakfast, walking at lunch and eating snacks throughout the day (snacks are usually better tan three large portions). Also eating a low fat dinner and going to be at a reasonable time to get the rest they need. And repeat. • Also keeping a stress free life will help this

patient• Drinking more water, do yoga, and continue

walking

Results

•My patient really took her goals and put them to heart. She already set them as goals for herself before the intervention process so this gave her more motivation to actually follow through with her goals. •She began to walk more and do yoga whenever she has time. •He stress levels have gone down. •She claimed to feel much healthier. •She felt more rested and had more energy.

Personal/Professional Analysis • Breast cancer is treated by chemotherapy and

following that with doctor check-up’s. Doctors and specialists could say that her cancer circumstance was a very fortunate situation. Being that she was diagnosed at a very early stage, she was treated and cured with in the year of her diagnoses.

• As shown by the health improvement plan, staying up with her routine set out in front of her can benefit her and reduce any chance of a reoccurrence of cancer. She took advice very willingly, though all the goals we set up were goals she was already trying to work on herself.
