How can we keep children entertained, but safe?
One to six months
• Teethers• Bright pictures• Pleasant facial
expressions• Rattles and musical toys
Six to twelve months
• Baby books made of cardboard
• Pop – up boxes• Bath toys• Key rings
One to two years old
• Big balls for throwing and kicking• Drawing and coloring books• Push- pull toys• Building blocks• Dolls• Play clothing• Wagons
Three to five years old
• Simple puzzles• Card games• Picture books• Roller skates• Construction toys• Dolls and stuffed toys• Sand and water toys
• Always watch young children• Don’t leave small toy pieces around young children• Let kids play in the backyard, rather than the front yard
• Never let your child play with a toy that isn’t age appropriate for them• Avoid toys that have large chords or strings attached• Use a toy box so your toys aren’t laying around
• Hopscotch• Tag• Hide and seek• Red light/ Green light• Duck duck goose
