The Japanese Currency is yen. There are four kinds notes and six kinds of coins. Japanese currency is made to help

people with sight problems. All the notes and coins are different sizes. Each note also

has raised bumps in the bottom

1.Nagasaki - Atomic bomb Museum.The museum covers the story of the atomic bomb that landed on Nagasaki on 9th August, 1945.The museum also covers the history of nuclear weapons development and photos of the bombing. 2. Hiroshima - Hiroshima CastleBuilt in 1589 the castle is sometimes called Carp Castle, is five stories tall it is surrounded by a moat. Hiroshima Castle was destroyed by the Atomic bomb in 1945 and rebuilt after the war.3.Osaka - Sumiyoshi ShrineThe Shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Japan. It was built in the third century. The shrine is believed to protect travellers, fishermen and sailors on the sea.  4.Yokohama - Sky Walk It is a pedestrian walk way which crosses the Yokohama bay bridge. Along the Sky walk there are telescopes to show views of the port.   5.Tokyo - Disneyland10 million people go to Disneyland. It was built on 1983 and it was also built in U.S.A. Disney owns some accommodation as well.

In Japan there are many different Festivals celebrated throughout the year.They are mostly very traditional festivals based around religion.

Cherry Blossoms Day

The coming of the cherry blossoms is one of the happiest events in Japan. It means that Spring is coming and that the winters in Japan are very cold. The festival also has a more cultural meaning, tea ceremonies,

traditional Japanese music or dance performances take place. Cherry blossoms are lit up at night during the festival. People can bring food to have a picnic under the cherry blossom trees.

Japanese New Year

Japanese New Years day is the most celebrated holiday in Japan. During the first few days of the new year you will find every shop is closed. The new year celebration lasts for five to six days. On new years eve before

midnight, Buddhist temples ring bells 108 times to remember Japans Hardships. This ritual is a way to send out the old year and bring in the new.

In Japanese history family was very important. It was expected that the oldest son inherit the position of head of the house. The rest of the children were expected to

leave when married. In modern Japan family is still important, but things have changed slightly. The head of the house is over, since children now choose their

future jobs freely. Women are still the primary caretakers, however more Japanese women now have jobs and a family,

In Japan children are raised to work hard and take education seriously. Also in most Japanese families the grandparents live with their family.
