What is the Alamo? In 1835, Mexican soliders tried to take a cannon away

from some Texans in Gonzales, Texas. The Texans fought

to keep the cannon. This fight was the start of the Texas

Revolution. It was a short, but bloody war.

Why did the Alamo start? The Americans started to be independent,

so they started the Texas Revolution. The

Alamo was the first battle.

What was the Alamo and Where did it take place? The battle of the Alamo took place in

1836 in San Antonio . It was a terrible

fight over a simple cannon. The Mexican

army won this battle, but lost the war

just a few weeks later.

Important Information The Alamo mission is in San

Antonio. The most famous battle was fought there. Texan Rebels were using the mission as a fort at the time.
