How To Use Buzzsumo

Buzzsumo is an online tool. It allows you to find out what content has gained much popularity and who are the top influencers for the subject matter you are looking at.

Let’s get started.

First, let’s look for content about the Philippine resorts.

Type buzzsumo.com on the browser URL bar. This screen appears.

Type the subject on the search bar.I am looking for Philippine Resorts.

Since we are using the Trial version, search results are limited to few lines. The paid version provides more results.

Notice that most content about the Philippine resorts are found in Facebook.Nothing much is posted on other Social Media.

You can also Filter your searches on this Side of the page. In this case all filters arechecked.

Content types are shown at the bottom of each line resulting from the search.

All of these contents are done via Articles.Other types were not used.

Since this line has a good number of shares in Facebook, Let’s click this.

This page appears. Note the number ofShares per social medium.

We may want to connect to the site ownerand offer a Guest Post, create an InfographicOr Videos.

The first search done was by Date and Past Year. Let’s see if we search under 24 Hours.

There’s no content posted for the past 24 hours.

Let’s try a other specific search, this time click Influencers.

Type work at home mom in the search bar.

Check Influencers for Filter Type.

Then click Filter.

Let’s click on Lisa Mills and see if she is an influencer.

You may want to save some information about Lisa Mills.

Copy and Save her Twitter address.

Save the number of Followers she gets from her Social media.

To save the information gathered about the influencers, click Save Search.

This screen appears. Type the information you’d like to save.

If all the data you need is completed, click Export.

The drop down selection appears. In this case, I chose CSV.

Buzzsumo creates a crude Table of information. You can format this into Excel or arrange the columns based on how you will use the information.

You may search for some more Influencers and gather the information you need. Arrange them in formatted spreadsheets. Arrange the columns depending on your preferences.
