AfundamentalaspectoftmtjisProjectManagement.OntheonsetwewillprepareaProjectPlan by determining the type of project and scope and then embarking on a process ofarrangingall thenecessary featuresof theprojectathand, irrespectiveof thesizeof theprojectorwhat itentails.Thisphase iscriticalas itenablesus toestablish theguidelinesoftheoverallparametersoftheprojectincludingtheexpecteddeliverablesandthegeneraltimeframesoftheproject.Attmtjwehaveacomprehensiveunderstandingofthebusinessenvironmenttoincorporateallthenecessarycontrolsthatarerequired,intoaproject.Withourextensiveexperienceinthisfield,weareskilledinidentifyinganydeficienciesinwhatisrequiredforaprojecttobesuccessful,andweputmeasuresinplaceattheonset,tomitigateanypotentialflawsandtoguaranteethesuccessoftheproject.

BLACKECONOMICEMPOWERMENTCOMPLIANCE
AttmtjweareseriousaboutthekindofBlackEconomicEmpowermentwhichtargetsinequalityinallitsformsandourstaffcomplementisevidencethatwepromotehumanresourcedevelopmentofpreviouslydisadvantagedindividuals.WeareproudtohaveattainedaLevel1B-BBEEscorecardwhichmeansthatoutof100points,wescoredbetween85.56and100points,afeatwhichclearlydemonstratesourcommitment,asacompany,todoingourbitinaddressingcurrentrestrictionswhichlimitBlackpeoplefromparticipatingfairlyintheeconomy.
ThefactthattmtjhassuchahighB-BBEEscorenotonlystandsusingoodsteadasacompanyintermsofpotentiallygettingthebusinesswedesire,butitalsogreatlybenefitsourclientswhoaresubsequentlyinapositiontoclaimBEEpointsforthemselves,basedonthefactthatthey’veengaged our services as a company who is BEE compliant. This then becomes a mutuallybeneficialexerciseanditcontributestoSouthAfrica’slong-termgoalofmitigatingtheeffectsoftheinequalitywhichcharacterisedourpast.
WehavenodelusionsofgrandeurthatourBEEcomplianceisaone-timeeventwhichgivesuspermissiontobe lessvigilantabout thisall-important issueofBlackEconomicEmpowerment.This isaprocessthatweattmtjhaveengagedupon,andcommittedtoasacompanywhichreflectsthesocialandculturaldemographicsofourcountry.

Weattmtjarededicatedtothelocalcommunitieswherewehaveapresenceandwehavemadeanundertakingtocontributetotheireconomicandsocialwell-beingwheneveritisinourmeanstodoso.Werecognisethatoursuccessasacompanycannotbesustainableinisolationandthatitisimportanttoempowerthecommunitiesinwhichweliveandworkfortheattainmentofsharedprogressandgrowth.Intheseendeavourswehavestrengthenedvarioussectionsofthecommunitiesweworkin,inthefollowingmanner:

WeattmtjhavefosteredlastingrelationshipswithalltheCSRprojectswehavebeeninvolvedinandhaveensuredthatweofferon-goingsupportwheneveritisneeded.
Wehavedonatedt-shirtstotheYoungVoicesChoirforaconcertbecausewebelievethathavingauniformisimportantininstillingprideandself-confidenceintheseyoungpeoplewhentheyparticipateateventssuchasthese.
Wepromoteeducationthroughtechnologyandgiventhelackofaccesstosuchtechnologyformostschools,wehavecontributedacomputerandaprintertoadisadvantagedschool,inordertomakeaccesstotechnologyarealityforthechildrenatthatschool.
WeunderstandthatstrongcommunitieshaveavibrantspiritualelementassociatedwiththemandhavethusdesignedandhelpedintheconstructionmonitoringoftheSDAChurchinCapeTown.

Whilstwe are not driven bywinning awardswhenwe performour duties and engage in thevariousprojectsthatwedoattmtj,itisstillanoteworthyandheart-warmingvalidationwhenwegetrecognitionforthepositiveimpactofourwork.ListedbelowaresomeoftheAwardsthathavebeenbestowedontmtjovertheyears:

The Construction Industry Board awarded a certificate of recognition for “OutstandingPerformance inConstruction by aWoman” toMoiraTlhagale, for theNational ProjectManagementofthestadiainfrastructureforthe2010FIFASoccerWorldCup.
SABTACOWesternCape,whichisanarchitectureandengineeringassociation,awardedacertificateof recognition for “EstablishmentofNewFirmwithin theBuiltEnvironmentProfession”totmtjin2006.

MoiraTlhagaleisaQuantitySurveyorbyprofessionwithadiversifiedbackgroundinQuantitySurveying,
DevelopmentFacilitation,ProjectManagementandProgrammeManagement.Sheisanexperienced
professionalwhohasenjoyedgreatsuccessformanyyearsandhasachievedimpressivelevelsof
leadershipinthebuiltindustry.Thisisattributablenotonlytothefactthatsheishighlyqualifiedand
possessescredentialswhichdemonstrateherextensivetraininginthisregard,butsomeofhermost
valuedcharacteristicsincludeherabilitytointeractwithalllevelsofprofessionalsandclientelegiven
herexcellent interpersonalskills.Coupledwiththisisherresults-drivenphilosophyanddedication
to achieving goals through either individual commitment or in a team environment. Some of her
pastinvolvementshaveseenhercontributetoprojectsliketheCapeTownInternationalDepartures
TerminalasaQuantitySurveyor, theV&AWaterfront inCapeTownasaSeniorProjectManager
andthe2010FIFASoccerWorldCupLOCasLeaderoftheTechnicalTeamoverseeingthedesign
andconstructionofallthestadiumsthatweretobeused.Morerecently,MoiraTlhagalehasbeen
involvedwiththeAcceleratedSchoolsInfrastructureDeliveryInitiativewhere49schoolswerebuiltin
theEasternCape.SheiscurentlyfacilitatingtheGaboneweHousingEstateforBakubungPlatinum
MineinRustenburg.

Thembi Jacobs is a highly qualified Architect with a wide-ranging repertoire which includes
Architecture,DevelopmentFacilitationandProjectManagement.Sheisaseasonedauthorityinthe
builtenvironmentwithexceptionalskillsandexperienceincoordinatingprojectsbothinthepublicand
privatesectors.Heroutstandingorganisationalabilitygiveshertheedgewhenitcomestoplanning
andprioritizing,attentiontodetail,maintainingefficiencyandaccuracy,andshehasarefinedeye
fordesignwhichiscriticalinthisindustry.Ofgreatadvantagetoherisherexcellentcommunications
skills combined with her unrivalled technical and architectural codes, all which contribute to the
greatresourcethatsheis.Shecontinuallyupdatesherknowledgeofthisindustryandisaufaitand
