Catholic Social Services: “Strengthening our commitment to social justice and to those in need.” The Diocesan Annual Appeal enables us to “Serve with Love” and embrace all of humanity, especially by serving the poorest, the weakest and the most vulnerable. Catholic Social Services provides valuable programs that help ensure the most defenseless among us are cared for and protected. Your generosity helps keep our soup kitchens and shelters open. Thousands of meals are served daily at St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, Scranton, St. Anthony’s Kitchen, Williamsport and St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, Wilkes-Barre. St. Anthony’s Haven, Scranton, provides a temporary refuge for those who have no place to call home. At Nativity Place, families in crisis find emergency housing. Your contributions help us to operate housing and supportive programs for families and for individuals, including veterans and the homeless, while expanding our outreach throughout the 11 counties of our diocese. St. Brigid Parish Appeal goal is $ 23,750.00, the same amount as last year.
