Let those branches be for us signs of his victory, and grant that we who bear them in his name may ever hail him as our Lord, and follow him in the way that leads to eternal life. In his name we pray. Amen. Now a man called Barabbas was in prison with the rebels who had committed murder during the insurrection. So the crowd came and began to ask Pilate to do for them according to his custom. Then he answered them, “Do you want me to release for you the King of the Jews?” For he realized that it was out of jealousy that the chief priests had handed him over. But the chief priests stirred up the c rowd to have him release Barabbas for them instead. Pilate spoke to them again, “Then what do you wish me to do with the man you call the King of the Jews?” They shouted back, “Crucify him!” Pilate asked them, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify him!” So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas for them; and after flogging Jesus, he handed him over to be crucified.  Easter Prayer Vigil   – The following times are still available during the Easter 

 prayer vigil: Sunday, April 8th, from 1 to 4 a.m. You may contact the

church office (447-6633) or Rachel Trudell (694-3688) if you are interested insigning up during any of these time slots. Please consider spending an hour or two in prayer and contemplation during this time. Youth are welcome to

 participate , but those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. It is

entirely appropriate for multiple watchers to be present at the same time,

 particularly during the late-night/early morning hours.

 Holy Week and Easter Worship:Thursday, April 5, 7:00 p.m.: Maundy Thursday Communion Service will

be led by the Youth Fellowship.

Friday, April 6, 7:00 p.m.: Good Friday Cantata, “No Stone Could HoldHim”, presented by choirs of Berkeley and Faith UMC’s

  Easter Offering – This year it will support Imagine No Malaria. Partnered with the United Nations Foundation and the Global Fund, Imagine No

 Malaria aims to empower the people of Africa to overcome malaria’s burdenthrough prevention, treatment, education, and communications. Envelopes
