This program is designed to meet the needs of individuals with developmental/cognitive disabilities. Join us for arts, crafts, fitness, movies, computers & video games. Access our Wellness Center, enjoy our pool or take a walk in the park! We meet every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-2:30pm. Only $2 Drop in fee required or just $20 per month.

SMILE! - The Buddies were all smiles when the Tooth Fairy and her friend Kippy the Kangaroo came to visit on March 14. The Tooth Fairy read them a story about taking good care of their teeth and discussed teeth healthy snacks. The Buddies got to practice what they learned by brushing Kippy's great big teeth. A great big Buddy thank you to Dr. Natasha Khurana of Sporting Smiles for arranging the Tooth Fairy visit! STRIKES AND SPARES! - The Buddies Wii bowling tournament was lots of fun. They bowled three games and averaged the scores to determine the winners. Randi came in first with 156; followed by David at 154; Eric came in third with 153; and fourth place went to Michela 151. SPECIAL OLYMPICS - The Special Olympics Regional Tournament was held on March 23 in Warrenton, VA. Our very own Randi was very proud and happy to receive fourth place in her division. ROCK AND ROLL BUDDIES! - The Buddies were pleasantly surprised at their St. Patrick's Day party when our very own DC Webb provided karaoke. You would have thought the Bee Gees, Beach Boys, Garth Brooks and many other entertainers were right here at the center. All our guys and gals were just amazing providing not only fantastic vocals but lots of great moves to boot. Can anyone say ”Boot Scootin Boogie"! What a fun afternoon! Thanks DC!

APRIL ACTIVITIES

BUDDY ACTIVITY MONEY - Please bring in $10. BUDDY NEEDS - We need napkins, forks, spoons, cups, tissues, paper plates and paper wels. WHAT A NICE SURPRISE! - Our Kathy's sister Martine stopped by for a visit. She's visiting with Kathy all the way from California and greatly enjoyed the Buddy Club. Thanks to everyone for being so nice and making her feel welcome. As a matter of fact she was so impressed by the Buddies that she donated $250 for us to use for future activities. A great big Buddy thank you to Martine for her thoughtfulness and we wish her a safe trip back home to California. A GREAT BIG BUDDY WELCOME! - We have a new Buddy...Carolina. Spring break brought lots of new faces to our group...Katelyn, David, Jocelyn, Kristen, and Neeci were able to visit while off from school. We hope to see them back this summer. BUDDY OF THE MONTH

Tracey Atkinson lives with her parents in Dale City and has one sister. She attended school at Independent Hill and graduated in 2006. Tracey's birthday is October 6 and she was born in 1981. Tracey loves going to church and looks forward to those special times with her church family. She enjoys all music with gospel being her favorite. She loves the color red and her favorite foods are chicken and noodles. Tracey participates in many activities with dancing, bowling and singing being among her favorites. She loves the Buddy parties and especially enjoyed the recent karaoke day. Tracey is always so enthusiastic and that's one of the qualities that make her such a wonderful Buddy. Thank you Tracey for all you do for the Buddy Club!
