ON THE ROAD AGAINIn road games, the Bears have posted a 3-1-2 mark on the season. Freshman Brittany Raphino (Randolph, Mass.) led Brown in goals (four) and points (nine) in away games. Senior Abby Carchio (Lakeville, Mass.) tallied a team-high four assists on the road. Junior goalkeeper Kayla Thompson (Austin, Texas) played all 580 minutes on the road, notching a 0.62 GAA and .862 save percentage.

DOUBLE-FIGURE WINSBrown has now posted 10 or more wins in two of the last three seasons. The 2019 team’s double-figure win total marks the 16th double-digit win season in program history. The Bears have registered a record of .500 or above in each of the last five seasons (2015-19), marking the longest such streak in program history since Brown posted a record of .500 or better in 15 straight seasons from 1976-90.

TRENDSThe Bears have generated a number of positive trends this season. When scoring first, Brown is 14-0-1. When leading at halftime, Brown is 10-0-1, and when tied at halftime, Brown is 4-0-2. In one-goal games, the Bears are 6-1-0, and in games decided by two or more goals the Bears are 8-0-0. Brown is 6-0-2 on Saturdays this season and has posted an 8-0-2 mark in its last 10 games. The Bears have gone 7-0-2 in the months of October and November.

STRONG STARTWith a 6-0-1 record through its first seven games, Brown got off to its best undefeated start to a season since starting the 2000 season with a 9-0-0 record. It marked just the fifth time in program history that the Bears registered an undefeated record through seven games, joining the teams from 2000 (9-0-0), 1984 (13-0-1), 1977 (9-0-0), and 1976 (7-0-0). That stretch included the second-longest shutout streak in program his-tory as the Bears recorded six consecutive clean sheets, trailing only the 1984 team’s 10 straight clean sheets.

THOMPSON STANDS TALLFirst Team All-Ivy junior goalkeeper Kayla Thompson (Austin, Texas) ranks fourth in the nation in save percentage (.911) and sixth in GAA (0.34), while pacing the Ivy League in shutouts (nine), save percentage (.911), and GAA (0.34). In Ivy play, Thomp-son led the conference in save percentage (.867), GAA (0.538), and shutouts (four). Her nine shutouts rank tied for third in a single season in school history. She tied her career-high with six saves in regulation then stopped two penalty kicks in the shootout against Monmouth (Nov. 16). She has made a season-high six saves on two other occasions this season – in a 0-0 (2OT) draw at Texas A&M (Sept. 8) and in a 1-1 (2OT) draw against Yale (Nov. 9). She twice stopped five shots in Ivy play – at Harvard (Oct. 19) and vs. Penn (Nov. 2).

THE BACK LINEBrown’s back line of junior center backs Sydney Cummings (Millstone Township, N.J.) and Cameron Brown (Portsmouth, Va.) alongside sophomore Lauren Hinton (Mid-dletown, Conn.) and freshman Rachyl Francisco (San Jose, Calif.) has helped Brown post 13 shutouts on the season – the most in a year in program and Ivy League history. Cummings has played all 1,700 minutes on the season while Brown, Hinton, and Fran-cisco rank second, third, and fifth on the team with 1,694, 1,650, and 1,484 minutes on the season respectively. Cummings and Brown have helped the Bears post 24 shutouts since the start of the 2017 season.
