Principal’s Report – June 2017
June is here! Although it is more difficult
to concentrate once the warm weather is
here, older students need to work hard to
complete assignments and study for tests.
As a parent, it is important to know when
your child has to write an exam or hand in
an important assignment so that you can
encourage them to keep on top of their
workload. The final exam schedule for
grades 10 to 12 is included in this news-
letter. Younger students will have exams
scheduled during their regular class times.
As always, please call the school or send
a note if your child is excused from
school. In order to ensure student safety
and encourage attendance, we try to call
to check on absent students. We also
send out automated telephone messages
when students are late or absent without
being excused by parents. Please call the
school if you have questions.

EYES (educating youth in engineering and science) is a science
and engineering outreach program run out of the University of
Regina. Our goal is to engage youth in science and engineering
by doing fun, hands on activities throughout the year in Regina
and surrounding communities. We are very excited to be running
a weeklong summer camp in Esterhazy July 3-7th. Our camp has
4 theme days as well as a fun day on Friday where we have a
pizza party, a science show, a water fight and more! Our theme
days this year are environmental scientist, inventor, chemist, and
health scientist. Each day we will do a variety of fun activities to
learn about what a person in each of these fields would do in
their day-to-day job.
**Attention parents, past students and members of the community. The football team is al-ways in need of people that want to be involved whether as a coach/volunteer or now as a Referee! The Bandits Football team is hosting a FREE Refereeing clinic (Broadview school) June 17th @ 9AM – 330PM snacks will be provided. The clinic will teach and provide you with the tools to officiate a football game. Referees in our league are paid for their time and
mileage so if you are interested please contact Coach Gesell @ 696-2727.
Notes from the Career Counselor
I would like to congratulate the recent Graduates of
Broadview School. I am wishing you well in your future
endeavors. If your career plans ever change you are
always welcome to come get some advice about pro-
grams or application deadlines.
With the 12s moving on the 11s become the new 12s.
Just a little note that if you plan on applying to Sas-
katchewan Polytechnic the majority of their programs
are First Qualified First Admitted. This means some
programs fill up very fast so if your child wants a spot in
a program the sooner they apply the better chance they
have of getting in. So if they have decided let’s make
plans for the fall and be on top of this.
If your child is looking to make some money this sum-
mer and need help with a resume do not be afraid to
ask for help. I am available on Wednesdays in Broad-
view.
