TYPE RModular, Expandable, IP-based Radio System

Type R is a modular, expandable, IP-based radio system from Calrec Audio. It utilises standard networking hardware and soft panels which can be tailored to operator needs.

With a simple 2U core with integrated I/O resources, a single core can power up to three independent mixing environments. Whether used as independent studio consoles, microphone processors or utility mixing, the ability to use multiple mixing engines combined with the flexibility of the AES67 compatible network, provide all the power you will ever need.

The rise of streaming services and increased competition for the attention of listeners is forcing the radio market to look for innovative ways to engage with their audiences. Modern radio stations are finding that they need to operate in a multitude of ways to connect with different target audiences.

BRIOAudio mixing Console

Brio is the most powerful and compact digital broadcast audio console in its class. It has a comprehensive broadcast feature set to support a wider breadth of broadcasters, and the same market-leading levels of quality and customer support which Calrec is renowned for.

Brio36 is 892mm wide with a 36 dual-layer fader surface, while Brio12 is only 484mm with with standard trims, and just 430mm with Calrec’s slim trim option. Additional expansion I/O slots are fitted, while the Brio36 also has I/O built directly into the rear of the console.

With lots of delay resource, dynamics, integrated talkback, and multiple monitor outputs, Brio is broadcast-ready with no compromise or workarounds.

QUARRA PTP 10G10 Gbps Ethernet Switch

Artel’s Quarra range of IP PTP switches is designed for Carrier Class applications where accurate timing and control is required. These switches are aimed at the professional markets of Audio/Video Broadcast, Defense & Security, Finance, Utilities, Telecom, and Enterprise IT.

The Quarra switches are designed as either a standard 1RU rackmount unit with dual power supplies, or a half-width1RU unit with a single power supply, the switches are available in several configurations of 1 Gigabit and 10 Gigabit interfaces, supporting a best-in-class layer 2 IEEE 1588v2 algorithm. A 1pps external reference input from GPS is included as standard, and options include an internal layer 1 Synchronous Ethernet module.

The Quarra switches support SMPTE Standards-based Timing ST 2110-10 and ST 2059-2 and are RAVENNA AES67 approved. The Quarra switches also support IGMP v2/3, QoS, protection switching, VLAN, MEF service delivery and network OAM.
