President’s Message… This message starts out with an exercise in words. Before reading on, take a moment
to think about the similarities and the subtle differences in the meaning of TRUE and
TRUTH.
STOP AND DETERMINE YOUR ANSWERS
I will depart from this exercise for a moment and explain why these words are
important to me. My life has always taken me to situations where I work and deal with
people; individuals, groups, people with ideas and people who follow. The single
biggest “eye opener” for me has always been the people who see true and truth as the
same and those who find the difference.
This leads me to my most favorite personality trait – integrity. Growing up, I was
blessed with a family who lived and acted with integrity. Through the years, in
business and now as a volunteer, I have come across many people who deserve this
description. They are shining stars in my world. You know who you are because you
immediately knew the difference between true and truth. For me, knowing this
difference helps me in choosing who I listen to, how I react to comments (rumors or
otherwise) and then ultimately my course of action.
According to Webster: True - in accordance with fact; Truth – sincerity, honesty,
correctness, accuracy; Integrity – completeness, honesty, sincerity
Unit Events:
Picnic: Wow!! What a great event. Kudos to Paul and Linda Zittel, and Tova
Reinhorn for a wonderful day. Amazing food (sweet corn oh yeh!), great turnout and
loads of fun. Thanks to all.
Non-Life Master Sectional: This past weekend was a busy, happy, fun event. With
70.5 tables playing over three days we awarded 155.38 SILVER points. Mixed in with
our local players we had folks from as far away as Phoenix and Sarasota; also from
Hamilton and St. Catharine’s in Canada and wonderful players from the Finger Lakes,
Salamanca and Allegany areas. Thanks to the directors – Donna, Chris and Eugene,
all the wonderful bakers and my co-chair Elaine Moon.

This hand came up at the NLM game on 8/21. No
one made 11 tricks in NT. It was difficult (for me)
to work out even seeing all 4 hands.
