Philippine Exporters Seek Opportunity in the US

Growth of Philippine Goods ● Great opportunity for Philippine exporters here in the
US. ● Growth of Philippine goods that are being brought to the
US.● There is an opportunity for a market that has not really
been tapped yet.
● This cannot solely be government effort. The private sectors themselves need to help promote themselves.
● They also need to work with the government to enter the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
● Philippine officials have started to exchange information
and consult with American counterparts on the
prospects of joining the TPP under the Trade and
Investment Framework Agreement mechanism in a
meeting held in Washington last month.
● US Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg said earlier the American government welcomes the Philippines’ expression of interest to join the TPP as such will help further strengthen the two countries’ relationship.
