In-feed Stacks of up to 18 half size or full size pallets are loaded onto the in-feed conveyor of the washer. Via the pallet roller conveyor the stacks are stepped forward into position in front of the destacker where they are destacked one at a time from the bottom. The separated pallet is subsequently con-veyed to the washer on the pallet roller conveyor. Out-feed After washing and drying, the clean pallets are passed on to the stacker, where they are stacked one at a time from the bottom. Destacking/stacking The destacking and stacking process is carried out by means of a gripping - lifting mechanism mounted on a robust raising-lowering frame. The frame is controlled by solid motor driven chains which ensures a smooth movement. The stacked pallets are conveyed on roller conveyors to be further processed (strapping or wrapping). Instead of stacking the pallets, they may be conveyed directly to palletis-ing, where pallet stacks are loaded onto clean pallets and returned to the producer.

Capacity The pallets are washed in a tunnel washer with a capacity of 300 full size– or approx. 600 half size pallets/hr. Process After destacking, the pallets are fed to the washer one at a time. The wash process comprises dissolving, wash-ing, after-rinse and drying. In the dissolving section the pallets are sprayed with large quantities of water at low pressure. When passing through the separate wash section the pallets are washed with detergent at high pressure. A split conveyor ensures that the pallet legs are washed underneath. A self-cleaning rotary screw filter separates any gross contamination including la-bels from the wash water. In the after-rinse section any residual detergent are rinsed off the pallets. Drying In the drying section, the water is effi-ciently blown off the pallets by means of 4 blowers with a capacity of 5,5 kW, leaving the pallets with a minimum of residual moisture.
