When we took 35 members to Llandudno a 90 year old lady was so pleased to have a sea view room she just wanted to sit out on the balcony looking out to sea most of the day.

Just a few of the people we are working with now Mrs L

Recently moved to the area and wanted to make

some new friends. She picked up a leaflet in the local library and decided to join. Her mobility is poor and she needs someone to help her to get to the activities. Transport and assistance has been provided on our

fully accessible minibus. Mrs L now enjoys the reminiscence group, bingo and outings on our extra care trips. She has made new

friends and has settled well into Bramley.

Mrs SIs struggling to manage

in the house and needs to find out her options for moving into

sheltered housing. She has questions about what types of property are

available and how to get onto waiting lists. BEA has supplied lists of sheltered

accommodation and arranged for application forms to be sent. Advice

has been given on filling in forms, housing benefit entitlement and

arranged for her to view a flat at a complex that she

prefers.

Mrs WHer daughter wants Mrs

W to get out more and to do something she enjoys. Mrs W is

very forgetful and is not sure if she will enjoy group activities. She went along to our ‘Singing for the Brain’

group with her daughter and found that she could remember most of the words of the songs without reading

the sheets. She joined in all the songs and enjoyed herself so

much she now attends every class.

Mrs PIs a stroke victim and

under 60. She needs help to get out and socialise. BEA has signed her up to our very

supportive Stroke Club at Bramley Lawn. We offered her door-to-door transport

and a programme of events and outings.

Mrs BBEA arranged for Mrs B to

be enrolled on a computer course for over 60s. She now enjoys bidding for Leeds City

Council properties on line and has learnt how to renew her repeat prescription from the

comfort of her armchair.

Mr IIs becoming unsteady

on his legs and feeling less confident when walking. BEA

loaned MR I a three wheel walker to try before he paid for his own, to see if it helped when out walking. He decided not to buy a walker

and made do with a walking stick from our charity shop instead. He is now walking to our new

Men’s Day on Saturdays at Bramley Lawn.

has organised better security which included window

locks and extra security on the doors. Mr F has also benefitted from a top-up

on his loft insulation.
