HISTORY
Tomohon Botanical Garden (TBG) is
the first private property in Indonesia
which is located in Tomohon, North
Sulawesi, Indonesia. This concept was
inspired by Mr. Ronald Korompis and
Mrs. Marry Wewengkang, as the owner,
on September 2003 to construct an
conservation ex-situ area for Wallacea
flora with theme BALANCE of
NATURE and SPIRIT.
This area located at Mahawu slope with
land area approximately 75 ha and has
altitude between 820 – 1020 m above
sea level. With natural forest of
Wallacea area, TBG has air temperature
about 22 OC.
The inauguration ceremony of the TBG
was lead by Mgr. Josef Suwatan MSC,
held on 14 September 2006, at the Feast
of Holy Cross.
TBG has several product to make them
exits in public service, such as Mahawu
Station of Cross (Jalan Salib Mahawu),
Amphitheatre, Chapel of Mother Marry,
MAP Outbound, and Kaffekoffie at
Linow lake.
