Hidden among the vineyards was a pilgrimage route to the neighboring Benedictine monastery, Abbaye de la Sauve Majeure, whose monks tended to the vines for hundreds of years. With nearly 80 acres dedicated to Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the history of this site is alive in the gravel and clay dominated soils that contribute to the complexity of the Château de Fontenille Bordeaux Rouge. Composed of mostly Merlot, this wine is elegant, harmonious and the perfect value to share with friends. TASTING NOTES A very pleasant ruby color, Château de Fontenille Bordeaux Rouge is elegant and round on the palate with a fine, lingering finish. Well structured and full bodied, this wine represents the character and the authentic personality of the great red Bordeaux.
