IdentityDesigned for my company
2000
My parents were both printers and I grew up in their workshop among paper, maga-zines, books and posters.
In 1994, I was working as a photographer assistant for press photographers and be-came quickly one of them. From 1996 to 1998 I also had a part-time job my parent’s company and set the start-up of the desktop publishing. In 1996 I worked as a produc-tion assistant for TV and film advertising production. In 1998 I focused my activities on graphic design as a freelance for fashion and trends press magazines in Paris.
Finally In 2000 I founded my own com-pany, named PUR-T. I immediately had a passion for the web and its interactive pro-jects. I have been using a lot Flash’s tech-nology for 10 years. I started to work with notions of design objects and motion. In 2002 I rediscovered photography through digital camera and I have started to captu-rate images and mixing them with graphic design again.
Since 2004 I have worked with all media: graphic design, in print and multimedia, photography or film making.

One of my last project, was to develop tees series in Sydney with my friend Christopher Thomas. The original idea was to celebrate the simple life of his dog, Dasher the Wonderdog who is very famous in Surry Hills. Dasher is happy, a free and very friendly dog with people around this district even he just barks against one thing: contrails in the sky. Dasher is such a clever dog, he is feeling Climat change.

I have worked for Isabelle Porras for 15 years. She had always kept an eye on me and my work. At my early be-ginning, in 1994 when I was a photographer assistant, she asked me to design her first commercial brochure. A few years later, in 2002, I developed her website using Flash. The site shows a lot of pictures you can compare through its split screen.
In 2007 I directed 6 short movies for her company, to show and to explain what kind of places, people or loca-tion opportunities she is able to provide to clients. Lastly the final job was to create her company identity.

In 2004 the team of the Genovese hotel in Cor-sica - south of France - asked me to shoot a photo report and to design their new commercial bro-chure. Afterwards I designed a new identity for them and I developed the new website.
In 2008 I directed for the hotel a commercial movie in two parts to illustrate the city of Boni-facio, where is based the hotel, and the facilities of the latter.
I did the same job for their second hotel, Hotel Centre Nautique, next page.

This job was a big challenge: How was it possible for this French commercial bank to share printed documents and knowledge among the 18 federations of the bank, through 18 different security levels and many sharing options ?
Our solution was to create a desktop to digitize all documents and also develop an intranet platform to spread all digital files. We were at the early stages of Flash and PDF development. We designed an intranet site using Flash. I created a task force of people for the time of the project and we realised this so-phisticated multimedia object that we named COMUT. It was working as a real operating system with proper tools, windows, functionalities and levels of protection. We had been setting up this solution for more than one year. COMUT stopped a few years ago, without any troubles.

In 2006 I directed the first version of this cor-porate movie which explained the advantages of using Skyteam services for frequent flyers.
In 2010 BETC Euro RSCG, advertising agency, asked me to produce and to direct a new version. We had to use footages from 2006 and new foo-tages from several of the component members of the alliance. We also shot a new version of the presentation of Skyteam lounge services at Heathrow, London, in security zone.
This movie broadcasts in all alliance flights and lounges around the world.

Effects2004
In 2004 FENDI wanted to present four small bags from its spring collection du-ring a VIP event at La Terrasse, on Mon-taigne avenue, in Paris. I directed for them a short movie with animated bags, lights effects mixed with different layers of Flash animations. The spirit was to get a night touch such as the famous par-ties at Studio 54 during 80’s and 90’s, in New York City.

In 2006 I worked on the image of Daniel JEA, who is an author-com-poser-interpreter of French rock expression. I designed his first album and I shot a lot of portraits. I also directed two music videos for two of his songs. The first one, «Dans la durée», is a series of night shots of streets in Paris. The second, «Éxilés volontaires» is a raw capture, very simple, and it was shot whitout effects, on a minimalistic stage.

In 2007 BETC Euro RSCG, asked me to direct an interview of Aude de Thuin who created the Women’s Forum. We captured this intimate interview with two different video cameras. This film was used by the forum as a corporate film for its global communication.
In June 2005 Daniel Ragussis who just graduated from NYU cinema directed his first feature: HABER. The story is about Fritz Haber who invented the Mustard Gaz, the first chemical weapon which had been used during the First World War. By chance I was authorized to follow him in his project to do a behind the scenes. I added the sound track of my documentary with the classical music of Lucien Durosoir, who was a com-poser and participated to this war as a simple soldier. This musician was so traumatised that he never published his work until his son recorded it with an orchestra in 2005, in Geneva. Daniel Ragussis was really pleased with this documentary he decided to screen it in festivals and included it in his DVD.

I often use photography to sketch ideas. Photo-graphy helps me to fix it, to remember a light, to keep moments alive, to print what I feel. Photo-graphy is one of the best way to reveal beauty and humanity. I have been taking photograph for 20 years. It has always been my first medium of expression, something which has become very intuitive for me.

In 2005 I lived in New York City for 3 months. I think that NYC is one of the most important related city to photography. Shapes, lights, archi-tecture I could never stop discovering this huge megalopolis. After vertical dimensions, the bot-tom level of the city appeared to me, closer to people, to New Yorkers, their habits, stories and lives.
In 2008 I worked on my personal fine art photo work. I shot new series especially still photo-graphs. I exhibited two series. One is named In Extremis about the sleepy nature in winter, dead plants shot in front of a pure white wall. The se-cond one is about my photographs shot on NYC, the graphic city.
I still take pictures on other themes. One series is named Shapes. This serie is about metal and tools, found in a sculptor workshop (sample next page).

The trip from Chennai to Pondicherry, India, was a short distance but involved plenty of mee-tings. The Tamil Nadu state had a crazy heat during May 2010. This south-eastern state of India is crowded with over 60 million people; the entire population of France. People are eve-rywhere in the streets, cities, villages or in wild nature. This area is famous for temples and reli-gious devotion.

The traditional paper industry in Japan, washi, is going down. People prefer to buy cheaper pro-ducts from China. Along the Ogadawa river, in the small city of Uchiko, there is one of the latest traditional paper factory of Japan. Workers are old and they keep the secrets and washi’s know-how.
Yukari Sato, a young designer, chose to come back there, in her natal island. Before as a fashion model she lived in Tokyo and London, far from the countryside but the call of her island and family was too strong. She quit the fashion world and she studied design in Tokyo. Afte-rwards she came back to work with washi. She is now making decorative objects and materials for houses and contemporary architecture. She wants to save this tradition and she does her best to help those people who try to keep alive it.
