The BNamericas Mining & Metals service covers the business associated with the extraction of minerals from the ground and their processing, as well as mineral exploration.

We offer first-hand reporting, original stories, exclusive interviews, analysis and features, as well as stories based on the most important, carefully selected news items in the region’s media, saving our readers one of their most important assets - time.

In Mining we cover minerals used for base metals (copper, lead, zinc, tin, nickel, bauxite for aluminum, etc), precious metals (gold, silver, platinum etc), and industrial or non-metallic minerals (nitrates, potassium, lithium, etc, plus construction materials and gemstones).

The sector also covers coal and iron ore mining.

refineries, steel mills) as opposed to mine site facilities (which are covered in Mining), as well as metal fabrication (intermediary products) and the metals markets. The production of metals can be either primary (new material) or secondary (from scrap).

Metals most commonly covered are steel, aluminum, copper, nickel, zinc, lead and tin, and related downstream products (but not final consumer products).

Our coverage of the metals markets centers on the London Metal Exchange, the London Bullion Market and Comex (New York).
