Our Main Challenge

• Students on many of our campuses sign up to the BMC but have issues accessing terminals.

• On some campuses, they tend to be oversubscribed or prioritised for e.g. Masters students access.

• This makes promotion of the BMC on our campuses harder (Dissuades other students)

• Also means some students could potentially not get their certification by the end of the year/semester

Solutions

We will assign each student signing up to the BMC to a session group

Group size will be equal to the number of Bloomberg terminals on each campus (group average = 13)

Each session group will have scheduled BMC sessions in which they have exclusive access/priority to their terminals.

These will equal 8 hours (or more) in total for each group Create Facebook groups for each session group which will

create more sense of community between students taking the BMC and also act as a constant reminder of sessions.

Potential Limitations

• On some campuses, ambassadors may be unable to book out terminals?

As an official campus ambassador, most times, approaching either a careers service or finance related professor helps make this possible

• Members of certain groups may be unable to make some sessions?

The sessions are made to ENSURE availability at a specific time for each group. Students can still use the terminals independently if they want/can

• Some students may require more than the 8 hours allocated to complete the BMC?

Sessions are flexible. Through the use of the facebook groups, if there is availability on a different session, BMC takers can join other groups with spaces.

How Bloomberg could help us

• Getting in contact with on campus careers services before the academic year to help forge relationships

• Engaging more students on campus via social media e.g creating hashtags at careers fairs (common bank recruitment practice)

• This will strengthen Bloomberg’s presence on campus, making it easier for campus ambassadors to book rooms (becomes an activity in the interest of many students)
