Meditation/Meditación HABLAR DE JESUS A LOS NIÑOS

E l Señor señala a los niños como modelos de los que entran al Reino de los Cielos. Ellos tienden

naturalmente a amar a sus padres por encima de to-das las cosas, les deben obediencia y se sienten ama-dos y protegidos por ellos incondicionalmente. Si están acompañados de sus padres, son capaces de confiar aun en las circunstancias más extremas. Esa vocación por la paz y el com-partir de los niños, por encima de sus berrinches y apegos cotidianos, nos enseña tam-bién un camino de amor al prójimo. El clamor de una madre cananea hizo que Jesús le prestara atención. Sus gritos molestaron a los discípulos. Y cuando Jesús le hablo de la preferencia de los judíos, la humildad de esta madre con-movió el corazón de Jesús, pues ella no se ofendió como hubiéramos hecho cualquiera de nosotros, sino que insistió. Por eso, fue una de las personas a las que Jesús elogio diciendo lo grande que era su fe. La fe de esta madre hizo que Jesús obrara el mi-lagro de liberar a su hija de un demonio. En definiti-va, la misericordia de Jesús transciende los límites geográficos, los límites de pueblos. La ternura de Dios que nos acerca al reino celes-tial se hace presente en nuestros hogares a través de la relación de padres, hijos y hermanos. Con razón se le ha llamado a la familia "Iglesia doméstica". Deje-mos que la buena noticia de la alegría y la confianza que nos predican los niños, nos convierta; y predi-quémosles también nosotros, sin temor, con las pala-bras y con el ejemplo, sobre la bendición que es ser fiel a Jesucristo y formar parte de su Iglesia. Te presentamos a los niños y jóvenes que nos rodean. Bendice Señor sus vidas y haz que, cuando tengan que elegir a quién servir, puedan siempre es-cogerte a ti Señor Jesús. Queridos Padres haciendo la cadena de oración vamos a orar por la buena educación de los niños y jóvenes. Que este servicio de la Catequesis nos ayu-de a mantener un buen crecimiento espiritual de nuestra Parroquia. ¡Muchas bendiciones de Dios para los Padres y Cate-quistas!!!

A BEAUTIFUL FAITH...

T he Canaanite woman had nothing to lose. Her daughter was suffering from a demon-

possession that no shaman or physician could cure. She was a member of a condemned race that to the Jewish nation was nothing more than a despised, long-forgotten and hopeless people.

Yet the irony that develops between this woman and Jesus is beautiful as is the result of her pleas. Apart from Jesus’ wisdom in the Gospel, there may not be a wiser response in Scripture than the one this woman gave. Having no reason to suppose that Jesus would grant her re-quest, the woman shrugs off the apparent initial rejection and replied: “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs

that fall from their masters’ table.” The Canaanite woman teaches us a great deal about the nature and practice of faith. For take just a mo-ment and consider her situation. Her reward was a gift of divine mercy and the discovery of a God who gives unending grace to those who ask him. And look at how this woman behaved at her darkest hour. She answered Jesus’ silent and initial replies by continuing to beg for his help. She essentially says: “I admit that I am no more than a dog, Jesus. But even little dogs are granted mercy from their masters’ ta-ble. Even they are permitted to eat up the scraps that fall from their children’s plates. So I don’t believe that you will do nothing more for me, Jesus because I know you are merciful. Jesus was delighted with her answer. He happily granted her request and we are forever blessed with her brave example. This desperate mother pushed through her fear and believed. She expressed faith in face of her Lord’s seeming indifference and was re-warded beyond her expectations when Jesus healed her daughter with but a word. The lesson this woman teaches us is simple. Though God may test us in seemingly strange and unpredict-able ways, he will not turn away from his promises to help those who call on him in their time of need. And he will never turn his back on true faith.
