Blanket Square MEASUREMENTS: Each Square: 3in/7½cm depth x 3in/7½cm width or 6in/15cm depth x 6in/15cm width. MATERIALS: Approx 9 yards D.K. Yarn for each 3in/7½cm square. Approx 36 yards D.K. Yarn for each 6in/15cm square. 1 pair of 4mm (UK8-USA6) Knitting Needles. 1 Tapestry Needle. TENSION: 20sts and 40 rows to 10cm, 4in over garter stitch. ABBREVIATIONS: k knit mm millimetres cm centimetres in inch(es) st(s) stitch(es) kf&b knit into the front and back of the same stitch. k2tog knit 2 stitches together. BLANKET SQUARE. (Knit Diagonally) Using 4mm Knitting Needles. Cast on 1 stitch. 1 st Row: kf&b. [2sts] 2 nd Row: K1, kf&b. [3sts] 3 rd Row: K1, kf&b, k1. [4sts] 4 th Row: K1, kf&b, k2. [5sts] 5 th Row: K1, kf&b, K3. [6sts] 6 th Row: *K1, kf&b, knit to the end of the row.* 3in/7½cm Squares only: Repeat the 6 th Row from * to * until 20 sts are on the needle. 6in/15cm Squares only: Repeat the 6 th Row from * to * until 40 sts are on the needle. Begin to decrease. Next Row: K1, k2tog, knit to the end of the row. Repeat this row until 2 sts remain on the needle. Next Row: K2tog. Bind off the remaining stitch.
