If you’ve never shadow knit before, this baby blanket is a great way to learn! Shadow knitting is a very clever technique that looks like stripes when viewed straight on but when you look from the side,
the pattern is revealed. This blanket would look sweet in baby colors, bright crayon colors, or non-traditional colors as shown. Just keep in mind that the pattern will show best if you choose a light and a dark
color. Colors close in tone won’t show the pattern.

Designer Note Start with the dark colored yarn, this af-
ghan is knit by alternating 2 rows of the
dark colored yarn and 2 rows of the light
colored yarn. The first row (RS) of each
color is all knit stitches. All the patterning
is done on the wrong side rows and be-
cause of that, the instructions will list the
even # rows (WS) only.
When choosing colors for this project,
choose contrasting colors.
