OUR GOAL
Our goal is to make our school more interactive, with hands-on collaborative projects and less textbook-oriented material.
Planned Activities
We plan to construct examples of interactive and collaborative projects.
We plan to hand out a survey to find out the opinions of other students.
Goal Achievement
Examples of projects will give people a better idea on what we want to do, and hopefully they will support our ideas. Examples will also help us to get new suggestions.
A survey will show how many students support our plan.
Research
We need to find out how to turn a textbook into an action.
We need to see how much of a course is based on textbook work.
We need to create and hand out a survey to see how many students agree with our plan.
Opposition
Teachers may be opposed to this plan because they think they would not be covering enough of their curriculum.
Parents may be opposed to this plan because they might think that students are not learning enough.
Answers to Opposition
We think that it is better to cover less, but do it in a way that we’ll learn more about what we cover.
We think that if our parents see us understanding more schoolwork, they would agree that less is more.
Target Date and Team Meetings
Our target date is December 12, 2008.
We meet in class every weekday afternoon.
Media Attention
We may use the Inuvik Drum to attract attention to our plan. We may also hand out informative flyers.

Our Example….
Our example covers Chapter 7 of the Social Studies 20-2 textbook. It deals with Ultranationalism and Crimes Against Humanity. We have included all of the chapter’s key terms, as well as 4 of its examples. We learned a lot….much more than if we had simply read through the chapter and answered questions!
