Connecting Country Schools Our school has been included in the Connecting Country Schools (CCS) project, which is delivering upgraded wireless connectivity and internet access to more than 900 schools around the state. Planning for installations at our school has commenced. CCS will deliver upgraded and reliable wireless access in all our learning spaces, assisting teachers to deliver future focused learning to prepare our students for the digital age. Improved wireless and internet services will also give students more chance to connect and collaborate as well as provide greater access to online knowledge databases, streaming media, educational institutions and experts. Cooler Classrooms Program Bingara Central School has qualified as a priority school for the Schools Infrastructure – Cooler Classrooms

Program. This program is focussed on the hottest parts of the state in which they will be providing the

opportunity for schools to receive air conditioning in our library and classrooms. The aim of the Cooler

Classrooms Program is to improve the overall internal environmental quality of our learning spaces.

MUSIC NOTES

BAND SUPPORT COMMITTEE We are looking forward to next weeks concert on Monday, and the opportunity to play for the Governor of NSW and his wife on Tuesday. On Monday, the bus will be leaving by 1.40pm to take the band members to the rehearsal in Warialda. Any parents who would like to come on the bus are more than welcome - please note the cost of the bus is $5 per person. Band members can change clothes in Warialda between the rehearsal and the concert. On Monday the concert starts at 3.30pm in the Warialda School Hall and it would be wonderful to see members from the school community supporting our musicians. It is an opportunity for our younger musicians to listen to the band and the pieces we play. On Thursday, 16 August, we will be having a meeting in the school staff room at 5.00pm. It would be nice to see as many as parents of musicians there as possible as we have a few things to discuss. Emma Smith
