BACKGROUND
Sai Educational institutions established for the reformation of
student community
Essay competition to spread His message of Values and Ethics
among the students
Core objective - to initiate in the student community the enquiry of
the importance of Human Values in each one’s minds as they grow
up.
By conducting essay competition on same day will show uniformity
and oneness in undertaking seva activity among student community
Sri Sathya Sai Medals – India, will be instituted at the National
Level for Essay in English and Hindi and at the State Level,
District level and Samithi level for English , Hindi and Vernacular
language of the State .( all levels 1st, 2nd, 3rd ranks)
Objectives
To spread the message of Love, Service and Values as enunciated by
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba among Student Community
To recognise talent inherent within and motivate the students for a
better tomorrow
Grade I – 8 years to 10 years
Grade II – 11 years to 13 years
Grade III – 14 years to 16 years

State Level - English, Hindi and Vernacular -(state
language); State, District and Samithi level
First, second and third at each level and in each category
State Level : At Samithi; District and State level on a
festival day by calling dignitary

On the same topic on the same day and at the same time by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi in
each District throughout India.
Online mode
The judges will have to be accomplished persons of the Sai Organisations (or) outside with
virtues and capability.
Please note that Essay at National Level is for the languages – English and Hindi only
whereas Vernacular Language is for Samiti, District and State level.
Corrections by - One from the Judiciary or A senior Teacher or Professor, or From
Administration – A person of repute

One of the topics will be announced one hour before thecommencement of the Essay Writing competition.
PROCEDURE
On the same date at the same time throughout the state on
online mode
The State President will have to issue a circular to all the
concerned District President informing the topic and the
procedure to be followed for conducting the competition a
month before the actual date of the competition. .
The District President in turn, have to forward copies of the
circulars received by them to the various Samithis in his
District for necessary action.
The respective Samithis, based on the aforesaid circular, have
to contact the Balvikas Gurus and Principals of the Sri Sathya
Sai /Vidya Jyothi schools in their locality
The Gurus and Principals and the students will have to be
reminded once again, a week before the actual date.
Registration and Conduct
Online registration- on prescribed template to be developed
The Gurus and Principals are to taken in the loop for registration and conduct
of competition
Competition to commence at prescribed time and date, no malpractices
Invigilation to be ensured in the prescribed template
Mode of Evaluation
First evaluation at Samithi level -SELECT 1st, 2nd, 3rd ranked scripts in 3
languages to be sent to District level
Select 1ST , 2ND , 3RD ranked scripts to be sent to State level in 3 languages
and 1st , 2nd, 3rd scripts to be sent to National level in two languages English and
Hindi
In case of District level competition- after First evaluation at District level and
for second round 1st, 2nd, 3rd ranked scripts in each language to be sent to State
level evaluation
The best 2 scripts , (1 English script and 1 Hindi script) from the states will be
sent to National level evaluation to decide the Toppers – First , Second and
Third in each of the language (English And Hindi).
Results & Date of announcement
The result of the competition must be intimated to the winners of the
competition, The Principals of the respective schools, and all other District
Samithis
The results at the National Level will have to be announced on an agreed date

While preparing template the following information must be sought

Names of the candidates must be entered in the mark sheets as per the pro forma.(One
copy to be enclosed along with the answer scripts and sent to District Seva Organisation and
another copy may be retained by the Seva Samithi for the purpose of record).
The correction of answer scripts of the various Samithi’s in a district, will be completed and
the top three scripts in all the three languages must be sent to District President after the
evaluation before the prescribed date .
The entry forms are to be kept with the respective Seva Samithis for their record and they
need not be sent either to the District Organisation
The pro-forma SS-3 may be filled with the required information and sent to the District
President
After Evaluation
Marks Sheet
Must contain - Sr. No., class, marks awarded under- language(30), matter(30),
presentation(30) and handwriting (10)
Samiti level :1st, 2nd, 3rd prize positions will have to be announced. (Prize distribution
will take place for Essay writing prizes on the assigned date.)
Names, School address, Gurus Address , Fathers’ names, Contact number,
Email Id and house addresses of the winners of 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize winners
have to be collected
Issue identity no. /certificate to the winner of 1st prize to enable him to
produce the same at the district competition.
Inform the winner of 1st ,2nd and 3rd prize of the three topics that he/she
needs to prepare for the District competition
District and State level :Procedure to be followed for the District level and State Level competition
is almost the same as the one followed in Samithis except for the following:
One of the three topics earlier announced for the district level competition
to be selected by the District office/State Office and displayed 1 hour
before the commencement of the competition.
Inform the winner of 1st ,2nd and 3rd prize , the three topics that he /she
needs to prepare for the State Level competition. Also inform them that one
of the three topics will be announced 1 hour before the competition.
Certificate of Identity should be given to the winners .
