Delivering Excellence, Innovation and Opportunities for Success
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we celebrate the near completion of the
new school plan. All staff have worked on the
document and all families and members of the
community have been given the opportunity to
contribute through the completion of surveys and by
data collected by the school.
Last night, the document was presented to the P&C
for their input and I look forward to feedback from the
committee. I also invite any interested parents who
would like to look at the plan and make a contribution,
to contact the school to make an appointment with me
and we can look at it and discuss the plan together.
Our three Strategic Directions in the new school plan
are Learning for All, Wellbeing for All and
Community Partnerships. The plan is inclusive of all
members of our school and learning community –
students, staff, parents/carers and the broader
community. The plan is exciting, aspirational and very
achievable over the next three years.
Many of our students have begun to access a newly
setup Breakfast Club at school. It is wonderful to see
them sit together and develop appropriate social skills
while sharing a meal together. It may be a second
breakfast for many students, but if it helps them be
ready to learn, then we are happy for them to join in.
Warm regards,
Jacquie Lockyer – Principal

Class News
P3
Our students made some wonderful achievements in
the pool during School Swim Scheme this term. The
weekly Special Olympics Program has also been
keeping us active, with students practising their
throwing, kicking and batting skills.
P3 students have been enjoying music sessions and
have been learning a selection of songs and dances.
The chicken dance is popular and one of our students
has just about learnt all the steps!
We also got busy with collage and glitter to produce
our beautiful Harmony Day balloons and we have
been doing hands-on learning about temperature by
feeling a warm heat pack in contrast with an ice pack.
There have been some lovely friendships developing
as the class gets to know each other and students
have been helping to hand out lunchboxes to their
classmates and enjoying games and a laugh together.

S3
This term, S3 have been reading and studying the
Rabbit Proof Fence, Aboriginal music and have been
exploring the works of Guy Grey-Smith, an Australian
artist. Guy Grey-Smith was an abstract artist who
primarily painted landscapes. Our students have
created their own abstract landscape artwork to
reflect the Western Australian desert in which the
story, Follow the Rabbit Proof Fence, is centred
around.
