Fifth spire gin is a brand new spirit made by lichfield duo, and best friends, Rory and Tom,

who together formed greywood distillery.

With their engineering backgrounds and shared love of good spirits they set out to construct one of

the UK’s smallest micro-distilleries and methodically create a gin to be proud of.

The gin is constructed in two parts using twin copper stills. One is loaded with the main botanical bill,

including juniper berries, coriander seed, cassia bark, angelica root, orris root, liquorice root, pink peppercorns,

almonds, and seville orange peel.

The other is only used for fresh citrus fruits including lemons, limes and grapefruit.

The result is a luxuriously smooth spirit with a classic gin taste riding on a big wave of fresh citrus.

Nelsons Rhubard & Custard, 40%Nose: incorporating rhubarb into a mix of botanicals, madagascan vanilla, cinnamon and lemongrass. Palate: sharp, sweet rhubarb stands out, with the mellow vanilla balancing out the tart fruit notes. Finish: citrus peels and christmas-y spice in the background. Just like the sweets, really !

Havana Club Añejo 7 Year Old, 40% - CubaNose: Sweet and buttery with intermingled notes of toffee, honeycomb and coffee, a little spice and dried peels.Palate: Full and rich with notes of cigar box, particularly the cedar wood, guava and banana leaf with more toffee.Finish: Fruity, creamy finish. Lots of complexity.Overall: The first Havana Club expression intended for sipping !

Dead Man’s Fingers Spiced Rum, 37.5% - CornwallNose: A hearty helping of spices, buttery with some honey.Palate: Pineapple, Seville orange, dried raisins dusted with cinnamon and black pepper. Finish: Very smooth, quite fruity with a touch of creamy vanilla developing later on.Overall: Only ask for measurements in fingers like the cool people in films do. “Three fingers of Dead Man’s Fingers please, barkeeper!”

Pyrat XO Rum, 40% - GuyanaNose: Very citrusy. Zesty orange peel. Icing sugar, waves of fruit. Perhaps a little cough-sweet note too.Palate: Sweet, viscous, more orange. Marmalade.Finish: Molasses, orange peels, marmalade, spice.Overall: An incredible old-fashioned rum.

The Duppy Share Caribbean Rum, 40% - Jamaica & BarbadosNose: Vanilla and spice, touch of caramel and old oak.Palate: Juicy orange, dark chocolate, hints of cardamom.Finish: Balanced, not sweet, spicy and warm.Overall: Full-bodied, vibrant expression.

Mount Gay Eclipse, 40% - BarbadosNose: Full and rounded with notes of fresh flowers and honey, a little vanilla and tropical fruit. Palate: The palate is fruity and well-rounded with notes of banana, vanilla, smoke, toasty oak and spice. Finish: Long and spiced with toasty oak. Mellow and floral.Overall: The honey banana notes make it a shoo-in for the perfect sipping rum.

Naked Chase, 42%Made from the organic apples grown on the william chase estate, this is their first go at apple vodka, and it also serves as the base for their elegant crisp gin. Marmalade, 40%Seville orange marmalade marinated chase vodka infused in their alambic copper pot still to create a totally unique marmalade experience. We recommend mixing with the luscombe sicilian lemonade for a drink with the true taste of the med.

Rhubarb, 40%Slow cooked Herefordshire rhubarb is marinated with their triple distilled potato vodka and distilled a fourth time to infuse the flavours before adding macerated fresh rhubarb and filtering to achieve a delicate pink colour with the natural scent of rhubarb and custard.
